Our company picnics were spent at CJ Barrymore's for years and we always had a great time. I can see it being rather expensive for the guy coming in with his family off the street, but most theme parks are. Now, granted, this isn't Cedar Point, but it's definitely a fun place for kids and adults. They've got bumper boats, Putt-putt golf, temporary tattoo parlor, rock climbing wall, a few different go kart tracks, batting cages, video arcade, bowling alleys, restaurant/bar, etc.The point is, there's a lot to do. In the summertime, this is a great alternative for kids to go wear themselves out. It will cost you some coin, but, like I said, kids love this place, and adults can have a blast too. It's a good time for families to spend time having fun together. The food is good, and the staff is helpful. Also looks like it would be a fun place for a teenager to work, and there are a lot of them working there in the summer time.
What a wonderful attraction. Our reserved group was celebrating my grand sugar's 6th Birthday!!The building and grounds are well kept with excellent snow removal to the concrete well lit parking close to the building.Staff at desk very attentive on approach. The entire atmosphere is warm and friendly with fire pits, comfortable leather furniture and large tables to accomodate large parties. Everything was well maintained and clean in the facility. There is a a variety of activities for all age groups; I especially enjoyed the Arcade. The food was excellent. The only disappointment was we could not serve the Birthday girl specialty ice cream that we made a special trip to pick up. We were not informed at reservation time or confirmation time that ice cream from outside was prohibited; so please add that to your list for future groups. We had already spent $26 on ice cream and couldn't afford to pay there. We had a great celebration and I have been telling other about the good time.
Kids love this place for fun and some food. They just recently went from the coin operated system to the new card system for the games.....makes it more difficult to split money with the kids....not convenient.
This is like a small amusement park. You have to buy tickets for each attraction..like rock climbing or bungy jumping. There are also different go-kart tracks. I think the price of these attractions is a little on the high side. The miniature golf course is really long and interesting. There is an arcade, bowling and laser tag. Overall, I would pick it over Dave and Busters, especially in the summer.
We liked this place. There's tons to do there. We played arcade games and laser tag. The Laser tag arena was pretty small but the kids had fun, and the arcade games were a little expensive but at least we had a groupon.
We had my step-daughter's 7th birthday party and we all had a blast, kids and adults. There is so much to do in the summer. If you are going to visit, I would definitely suggest going in the summer. They have a full arcade and bowling on the inside, but the everyone loves the go-carts in the summer. The kids also loved the bungy jumping and rock wall climbing.
It is not just a kids place. We all had fun riding the go carts, bumper boats, and other fun activities. Kids loved it and so did we!
This was so awesome. The kids, loved the go carts, the rock climbing, bummer cars (land and water), laser tag, and parachute rides. This was so much fun. SO glad we found it.
The place is super fun! The food took forever, and was NOT worth the wait. They should really work on that because they would be all in one spot....but not for us. Just games and rides.
We bought a Groupon for laser tag and arcade tokens. Couldn't beat the deal and the kids were entertained for hours.
The Golf Dome at C J Barrymore's was very positive and satisfying. The best part of hitting golf balls here is the fact that youare "inside" and there is air conditioned comfort. This helps the golfer to concentrate on his shot making rather than "how hot it is!!" The attendant was very pleasant and explained the options for renting golf balls, and he also explained the price differences based on age.I was also impressed with the selection of soft drinks available to help quench one's thirst after hitting numerous golf balls in the dome. Another fine point is that you can hit golf balls outside if you wish, so it is nice to have both options available
My father-in-law lives in the area, and during our last visit we stopped by CJ Barrymore's for an afternoon with my 3 adults (me, my wife and her sister) + 4 young kids (our 17-month old, 2 rowdy 4 & 6 year old nephews + 6 month old niece). CJ Barrymore's is probably the only place in a 1,000 mile radius that could keep everyone in our group occupied for 3+ hours. I've never quite seen anything like this place. It's like a giant Dave & Busters attached to a Chuck E Cheese with a laser tag arena, bowling alley, attached to a sports themed amusement park, but cleaner and better maintained than any of the above. My wife and I parked ourselves on a plush leather couch (there are several + armchairs around a firepit) in the spacious open layout sports bar/restaurant area and watched the World Cup on giant screens while snacking on appetizers with our toddler and infant niece. Food was not bad, and coming from Los Angeles, I was pleasantly surprised that the prices were reasonable ($5 for a kid's meal, $5 apps and $2 non-alcoholic drinks at the bar). Our daughter had plenty of room to stomp around, while baby dozed in her stroller. We were there on a Thursday afternoon, and the place was about 2/3 full, which was perfect, as we had plenty of room to ourselves. After the game was over, we joined my sister-in-law and nephews who were outside in the amusement park area. One was climbing a rock wall while the other was zipping around the go-kart track. We all sat at a shaded picnic table and ate ice cream while waiting. On a side note, big plus for having so many places for grown-ups to sit. This is an ideal set-up for parents to hang out and watch sports while offering freedom to kids anywhere from 6-18 to hang out and explore. I like how they combine indoor activities for kids like the arcade with more physical activities like a climbing wall, driving range and batting cage. Just very impressed at all the offerings. A family could easily spend 6+ hours here. Also nice that CJ Barrymore's offers as many activities as an amusement park without charging for admission. Very unique experience, and something that I wish we had in Southern California. I was very surprised that this was not a franchised business.
CJ Barrymore's has something for every age. We enjoyed the put put golf, go kart racing, laser tag and bumper boats. They do offer packages so you can get a discount on tickets to the rides. The food service leaves a little to be desired at the snack bar and is a little overpriced but there is a fast food restaurant in the adjacent parking lot for the little ones.
Place ot keep kids entertained , nice during summer with go karts and golf, and the bowling is decent. Lots of stuff to do for the right occasion, bar is pretty decent size but your going to pay for it, drinks are little over priced. Food is what you would expect from a place like this
4 tokens for almost all games.... save your money go to dave and busters down the road. Food over priced. Over priced Cheap gifts. 1000 tickets for things you find at the dollar store.
