Some of the finest cross-country skiing in Michigan's lower peninsula, with a good selection of trails through rolling hills, wide and groomed for both skate and classic technique. The groomers always do a very good job, daily if needed and weather permitting. Overall not so many people frequent the trails and wildlife sightings are common. Skiers of all levels will be pleased by these trails, however the parking lot and first 1/2 mile of trails can be frigid on a cold windy day, so bundle up and it will feel nice once in the woods! Mountain biking trails are just as great, nice sandy single tracks with some serious uphill and downhill, these are especially worth the trip in the fall with the spectacular foliage. I go there a lot from 2 hour drive away for 1 day of 2 day trips and I've never been disappointed.
maybe not the best, most exciting downhill skiing, but wonderful xcountry and snowshoeing. i'll be back next winter for sure.
Somne of the best cross country trails in Michigan. Perfectly groomed for both skating and traditional. Numerous levels of difficulty and length. Sperate area for snowshoeing where dogs are encouraged. A small local downhill and tubing are additional activities. Very cheap rates for downhill. In addition they have a golf frisbee course. No better place to cross country train both skiing and running.
Awesome disc golf course. Actually 2 separate courses there. Nicely maintaned. For all ages. Thanks Hanson Hills!!
This is a great place for beginners. It isn't too expensive, especially later in the year when they have specials on Fridays. There are no chair lifts, just a T-bar and a tow rope. Pro's - it is near where I live and inexpensive. Con's - no big hills. Nevertheless it is a fun place to go when you're cooped at home during the long Michigan winters.
Good archery 3d range but a bit long at times and arrows are easily lost. I love the disk golf course but it requires considerable walking oer tough terrain.
Nicely groomed XC trails for all levels; $10 for day pass (kids <12 are free). Great value for downhill, especially Friday nights $1 lift tickets and cheap rentals. Tubing - super fast! Warm lodge.
They we're prepared for the big snow storm, great place for intermediate downhill skiing and boarding.
We have never been to this place duing the winter when the skiing is going on, but we love to come in the summer time.During the summer, the grounds are open - you can walk up the ski slopes for fun and excersice, you can hike the cross country ski trails, there is a pond for fishing, ball fields, picnic tables, and a really nice, new playground for the kids.
