Spent Valentine's weekend here with our 3 children. Service was great and the housekeeping staff was exceptional. Restaurant was great (Can't beat a restaurant where the kids eat free!) Both mornings we had the breakfast buffet and for dinner one evening we ate at the restaurant too! Prices very reasonable for a full service hotel too! One suggestion would be to have a room service menu in our room as we wanted to order room service our first night, but no menu with prices/options. We had a minor problem with our bill (We stayed on a reward night through IHG Rewards) but the Front Desk was quick to fix it prior to us checking out. We will be back! Thank you for a wonderful family weekend getaway.
We stayed in the 1 King Bed and 2 Bunk Beds suites. The rooms were clean and well appointed. The attached restaurant was adequate for pizza and sandwiches especially since kids eat free and we had 4 with us. We had 2 issued during our stay. One was with the showers. We came back to the room from the water park freezing cold since we visited in January and there was not enough hot water for even one of our party of six to take a shower. We all froze. I called management twice and nothing was done and no apologies. The second issue- we had advance purchased the breakfast for the morning. When we arrived at the restaurant there were 25+ people in line waiting to get in. We had to go elsewhere.
liked - comfortable hoteldisliked - food servicesmall pool in hotel decor is very rustic, kids liked the stuffed birds in flight
We took all the grandkids there it was very crowded on one occasion and like anything it depends on the crowd to how much you're able to enjoy it the atmosphere. The second time it was not really crowded and we had a wonderful time it is much cheaper if you know someone who lives in Dundee they get a tremendous discount
We took our children (ages, 9, 10, and 10) here for 2 nights over spring break and all in all had a pretty good time. The room was very clean, yet small (family suite) and unfortunately we were right next to a door and stairwell. It was very noisy till about midnight... which made getting the kids to bed at a decent hour nearly impossible. The water park was fun, the kids spent a lot of their time there and at the arcade as well. It was small compared to major indoor watermarks but it was still nice... Two big slides, a lazy river, a large kids play area, and plenty of lifeguards. We stayed on a Friday and Saturday and it was very very crowded. The food at the restaurant was pretty good (we had the pizza) and kids eat free! Added bonus. The breakfast buffet however was terrible... styrofoam plates, cold eggs, and hash browns, not to mention the service that morning was horrible.. our waitress never came to bring us new clean plates or refill our water and coffee (which was much needed) Good news is... There's a Bob Evans nearby (within walking distance) We ate there the next morning and it was wonderful. Also, don't forget to visit Cabela's which is also within walking distance from the hotel.
We visited the waterpark portion for a birthday party. It was a great location for my young children! It seemed to have something for everyone including a nice splash pad outside for the little tikes, and a very shallow pool for the even smaller kiddos! Very clean and well staffed establishment. However, it is rather expensive for a family to go and if we wouldn't have had a birthday party, I'm not sure we would've spent the money to go. Maybe if I were looking for an indoor water park close to home I would go back, but there are a lot of other outdoor places that are cheaper within a 40 mile radius that I would rather go to. I imagine they throw out deals if you stay at the actual hotel, so that may be something to look into even if you live near by!
Perfect for Young families looking for a getaway. We had a great time. We will go back in the winter.
What a great way to spend the day with your grandchildren I can't say enough about this attraction. Staff was great, the park was small but I could watch my granddaughter at all times. The pool and everything else was very, very clean. Great Job!!!
The waterpark was fine for a hotel/waterpark. It was rather average and small, but clean. The hotel was clean, but noisy. The lobby was difficult to navigate.
I enjoyed the water park. It was not really busy. The kids and grown ups had a great time. The staff was friendly. The Hot Springs was just a little too hot
This water park is pretty small and not particularly warm inside but out youngest who is 4 had a wonderful time. Our 9 year old enjoyed the lazy river which was pretty packed and each of us hit our feet at different places on the filters which was not cool. The toddler pool is nice and the kids play scape is a great size but again our 9 year old got bored pretty quickly. They have two nice slides but we waited quite awhile for our turn. Lockers cost $10 to rent but you get $5.00 when you turn in your key. Locker rooms could stand to be a bit warmer and they might want to consider drains in the changing rooms as the floors were drenched by noon. Overall a nice day out especially if you stay nearby at the attached or other local hotels but not a destination for pre-teens or older. Make time to visit Cabellas next door, lots for kids to see there.
We arrived on Easter Sunday and it was packed, but that did not stop the front desk staff from being happy and helpful. They got us into our room early and when we got to our room it was nice and clean and we made ourselves at home! We didnt waist time getting to the water park with is actually pretty clean and bigger than I had expected and the staff and life guards we were very aware of what was going on and had no problem letting people know if they were out of line. The snack bar is a bit pricy so bring some snack from home! The arcade is ok but a bit expensive and the bar and grill is not too bad but again a bit pricey but.... the kiddos eat for free so that help alot. My only true complaint is the wi-fi sucks! Other than that we will be back
The waterpark is small, but ok for younger kids. There isn't a lot to do for older kids. The food at the Treetop Pub & Grill was awful. I asked our waitress what the soup of the day was and she answered "I'm not really sure. Do you want me to go find out?" The steak we ordered medium rare came out well done. My salad had a rotten cucumber in it. All in all an ok experience. We're really just here to go to Cabela's anyway.
Would not go back again!!! Arrival Sunday 2/17/13 3:45 (check-in @ 4 pm) Parking lot so packed hardly no place to park. We had to drive around to find a spot and parked very far from entry of hotel. This is due to the MANY outside public who use the waterpark as well. The hotel does not reserve parking for staying customers. Although the rooms were nice they are overpriced compared to competitive places that offer much more. (we stayed in the Bunk Suite), our overall stay was less then pleasurable. We booked our reservation several weeks advance. Called to place the reservation, booking TWO rooms we requested them be next to or across the hall from another. The booking agent over the phone told me she did not see it being a problem and would put the request in. At check-in one room ready, one room not. Came back after we ate at the Tree House Cafe, (food bad. Drinks bad.) Second room was 6 down across the hall from our first room, they did not accommodate for us and did not care that we were a bit upset. Pretty much gave us the oh well attitude.Overall the hotel room was loud, walls paper thin. In our room it sounded like thunder when people above walked the halls or moved around their rooms, our room even shook at times. The waterpark was small and crowded and the water was very, very cold. Food was aweful, and menu very limited.Very disappointed, will NOT return.
I have been to this hotel now three times the last time was today and it will be my last time. We did not spend the night and only arrived to use the indoor water park for a day pass. Many complaints from many guests about the food quality and time to get the food. I thought it was a bunch of hooey.... But I was wrong. At noon I was first in line to the treehouse pub and grill. I immediately ordered 2 chicken Caesars to go. The food took 32 min to come out ... Other people got their meals a before mind including 2 whole pizzas made to order and burgers for an entire family. The water park was ver cool not the advertised 80 degrees and the water temp was cold.... We will not be going back
