chateau chantal winery & tasting room

We won a VIP tour and went with another couple. We had a great time. We toured the B&B, the cellar and got to taste quite a few different wines. Our tour guide, Caroline, was funny and friendly. I don't know how much it normally costs so I can't say if it is worth the value but it was a great time.The views from the chateau are amazing. You can see from bay to bay.

One of the best views but normally pretty busy. Definitely have a glass of wine on the patio and enjoy the view of the lake.

Beautiful patio allows you to enjoy both the wines and the views. During the week it was not very crowded and was an enjoyable experience.

Thank you for the review and kind words. You are right that Saturdays in October are busy - in fact, they are the busiest days of the whole year. Nothing to not like about this place. Wine is excellent . Fun place to visit. Views of the bay is spectacular. Don't miss it!

this is our first visit to Chateau Chantal. The ride up to the Chateau is breathtaking. The fall colours are at their peak and we could have stood looking out at this natural canvas for hours. A must see. The winding roads, hills all beautiful. Then there is the wine tasting. Yes they do charge you $3:00 for 6 different tastes.......but if you end up making. Purchase either wine or one of there beautiful wine glasses (I had to have the wine glass with the pewter oval with the red enamel inlay) beautiful. We loved the cherry port and the cherry wine. I think $3:00 is a fair price. Just think of all the things where purchase that we wished we could have tried first. I wouldn't miss this spot. All they have a B&B on this property. Would be beautiful for a fall wedding or so,e occasion. Enjoy. Thanks to all the people who review this place before us.

One of the best experiences at a winery. The location is great, views of sprawling vines are beautiful and there is a large tasting room inside and a lot of outdoor seating and viewing areas to enjoy. Staff is super friendly and knowledgable of the wines as well as best to pair what with food.I would recommend the Naught Red as well as the 2011 Proprietor's Reserve Trio. For white, I really enjoyed the 2013 Unoaked Chardonnay

Usual small charge for tasting, friendly knowledgeable staff working the tasting bar. This winery has some brandies in addition. I really like the Cherry Port in the squatty bottle.

This was my 3rd visit to Chateau Chantal. While the wines are okay, the big draw is the beautiful facility and setting.

$3 for 5-6 wine tastings I think is very reasonable!This is a hobby my BF and I like to do, drive around vineyard areas at go the different wineries. The building/patio is absolutely breathtaking. I am not a big wine drinker but I am up for trying.

This place is great! The views of The Bay and rolling hillside are spectacular!! Prices are on point and the bartenders are very friendly and knowledgeable. My husband and I are definitely coming back again to try the bed & breakfast aspect.

You could spend the entire day hopping from one winery to the next on Old Mission Peninsula. I took the "Sensual Tour" here at Chateau Chantal where we had a tour and paired up wines with food samples from "Marabella". The tour was great, view is exceptional, outdoor patio not to be missed.

Stopped in here for a wine tasting on the drive up the peninsula and it was a great sidetrip. People were very friendly, wines were nice, but the outside veranda was very relaxing and enjoyable. Wish we had stayed here at the B&B.

This winery has a beautiful setting and great staff. It was hard to enjoy the wine while fighting off the fruit flies. The server said there was nothing they could do about them and they weren't too bad the day we were there. The other wineries we visited did not have this problem. The $3 tasting fee is deducted from your purchase making it very reasonable. They also have flights set by taste preferences that we found very helpful.

Another winner thanks to members on Trip Advisor and reviews. The views are beautiful while your enjoying your wine. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. I just had to get a souvenir glass to remember such a good time. It was fun to try the Cherry dessert wine Cerise so fun. And you can pair it with dark chocolate......sold!
