Very nice and clean for a ski lodge. Food is awesome and there are options for all ages. Very well maintained grounds.
I haven't been to Mt Holly in years and I was itching for some skiing. Mt Holly is really nice and set up well. The lodge is nice and there is a bar/cafe to get drinks and food during breaks. They have some nice run for both skiing and snowboarding and even a terrain park for tricks. They feature two long runs which are my favorite for barreling down on my skis. There is also a high-speed lift that jets you up the hill quicker. The conditions for us were't that great for the time we went so the base was mostly artificial granulated snow although it wasn't greatest thing in the world we were still able to go out and have some fun! Check this place out!
We don't get any snow where I grew up, but I decided to give it a shot at skiing now that I live nearby this place. It is a great place for beginners like me, because the place is not so big and there are all kinds of slopes. I didn't think that it was expensive, but there is usually a lot of people, so be careful if you're a beginner like me.
Making Snow in SouthEast Michigan can be a Challenge. Making Great snow is even harder and very expensive. I Ski Mt Holly 3 times a week and every time i ski you can see improvements being made. From Terrain Park to Grooming. Thanks Mt HollyMichael Shea Schussmeisters Ski Club President SkiMich, com or BoardMich.com
Let me start by saying we are from florida and I have only been to four ski resorts in my life. With that being said, I reallllly liked Mt. Holly and loved it! my kids who were 1st time-ers had a ball! Is it Utah? Probably not. They had plenty of runs for us, fast lifts, super friendly staff, and good drinks! Anything more would have been over kill. If you are in the area you should take the time to give it a go. If you do, you can cross over through most of the trails and really create some very long runs. We also met the owners who were super great and very accommodating.
Based on the facilities available I feel the it is way overpriced. The fee is the same as the mountains out east or west. In comparison it is hardly worth it. However, is able to get a season pass through the school it is worth it for them.
Great skiing for SE Michigan. Lodge is in better condition and cleaner than many others in the area. Food is mediocre at best - mostly junk food with no real high quality or truly healthy or high end foods. Even their soup in their best restaurant tasted like it was from a powder mix, hot cocoa is made from powder, etc. We find lift ticket times somewhat awkward and inconvenient - there are times we haven't gone because of the timing.
Mt. Holly is in a great location for anyone in SE Michigan or NW Ohio - closer than Mad River and about on par for facilities and quality of runs. There are a good number of lifts and the trails are enjoyable, though short (as you can expect when not skiing in actual mountains :)). There were a TON of kids the day I went, which made it a little less fun just because it was so crowded, but the place is obviously very family friendly. I will say that I went to Stowe the week after Mt. Holly and the black diamonds at Mt. Holly were much easier than any of the blues at Stowe, so don't expect anything super challenging!
We absolutely love skiing here since it is not too far to travel. When the conditions are good it's a great place!
Mt Holly is my favorite ski hill in the SE Michigan area. I think it has the best balance between runs and freestyle terrain areas. They also have a high-speed lift so the lift lines are not as bad. The facilities are in good shape and the food is pretty good. I really like the improvements to the outdoor patio space.
Mount Holly is a smaller run, but well maintained and great for learning with plenty of fresh powder whether its natural or made there.
Good value for your money - lifts are old and scary, logde is 80s retro, and runs are not as good as Alpine Valley to me.
Good runs here, a nice variety. Solid Ski Patrol too, have had the misfortune of experiencing their care.
Mount Holly is a commuter ski hill near flint. It's reasonably fun for a downstate hill. Disappointed that they weren't involved in the Shell Ski Free deal in 2011-2012. They charged holiday prices for truly horrible conditions. Granted it wasn't their fault that conditions were bad but premium pricing was not appropriate. If choosing between Cannonsburg and Mt Holly from Lansing, I have to choose Cannonsburg. Better prices. More interactive social media presence, better terrain park.Pricing being the same, I might split my trips between the two as Holly has reasonably longer trails compared to Cannonsburg.
