I try to treat my family to the Barn Theatre at least once every summer over the past 10 years. Every visit has exceeded my expectations! Thank you so much for offering such a great experience!
I think it was awesome they turned a barn into a awesome there! Nice, clean place to go! Check it out if you're in Augusta
Excellent place to see professional summer stock theatre. The Barn is classic. The entertainment is solid and exceptional. Strongly encourage an after the show visit to the Rehearsal Shed for a delightful cabaret style show.

We hadn't been here in several years, and felt very comfortable returning; not much has, or needs to, change. We saw Hello, Dolly, and it was excellent. The young actors are obviously having a good time trying to break into show business, and their talent and enthusiasm was enjoyable. The band (they have live music!) did an excellent job. We went to the bar show after the play, which was very enjoyable. It's very well scripted and performed by the young actors/singers. The 18-minute Wicked set was great and funny, and really showed off the talents of the youngsters performing it.
Returning to the Barn after several years, proved to be a pleasant experience. We saw the 2014 production of Hair and enjoyed the show. The cast was good, the musical crew lead by Matt Shabala was excellent especially guitarist Troy Benton. We hope for the Barn's survival in hard economic times and will return. We reviewed the season's offerings and noted there really were no family-friendly shows. The ticket price seems high for this venue - $35 and there were lots of empty seats. Hopefully there is better attendance on weekends. Verbal announcements were made of some up-coming events not noted on the website. We hope Barn staff will consider social media such as Facebook to keep fans updated. We appreciate the Barns 24 hour cancellation policy and attention to our handicapped guest, including the reserved parking spot. We hope the Barn will make some small changes and keep the great shows coming!
Everything is wonderful!! Nothing to dislike at this age old attraction, plays are fantastic and so many of the big stars began here and come back in the summer
We use to live one hour from The Barn and went very frequently. After retirement we moved six hours away. We hadn't been back for seven years. We saw Move Over, Mrs Markham. It was hilarious and better than any show we had seen previously. The cast were all terrific especially the interior designer. The bar show in the rehearsal shed was better than ever. The apprentices are loaded with talent and we wish them well in their future endeavors. We won't wait so long to go back, we will be there next year. Great time and a wonderful evening.
What a great time we had, The whole cast was awesome. From the singing and dancing the skits kept us laughing. Loved the show . Will go again. If you're ever in the area you must go!!!
The musical we saw was wonderfully staged with great singing voices. We will go back for other plays and musicals.
Im sure locals are aware of this place, but I stumbled across it. Should have checked trip advisor to " stumble " more efficiently... Fantastic EVERYTHING.. Put it on your Michigan bucket list.
The accolades in other reviews are all true. When you go (and you should treat yourself) consider staying after the play for an additional free show in the rehearsal shed. Arrive early, pick up your tickets, then head straight to the shed to reseve your seat.
What an absolutely amazing and magical place. This professional theatre have performers that are so talented. I love the bar show (totally free!) that is after the main performance. The apprentices work so very hard and are a joy to watch. No better way to spend a summer evening than going to the Barn Theatre. At intermission, there are benches outside to enjoy the summer. I always leave refreshed and recharged after being at the Barn Theatre. A true gem in Augusta, Michigan.
The atmosphere and theater are a staple in the community. It was a nice and relaxing time with family and tons of laughs. Really took you out of the normal things in life and transported you into there world. Amazing.
What a great place to go for an evening play. They show lots of musicals (not my cup of tea), but solid summer stock acting. The Rehearsal Shed is a little bar that is fun to hang out in even if not attending the show. The theatre really is in an old barn, but it has air conditioning. Nice grounds.
