I have been to Bells several times when the place was so busy you had to wait 30 min to get a beer!? Beware if you are a female and sit at the bar do not expect to get served more than one beer!! This evening I was cut off after one beer! I was respectful yet offended and embarrassed when I was clearly not even close to any of the TAMS rule! Let's just say women are targeted at Bell's! I am sad to say Ryan the "bartender" has made Bell's a place I will never return and I will pass it on. I have been a Bell's fan since 1995 when it was called Summer Solstice! A sad night for me! Ryan go check yourself!

the beer flights let you sample the wonderful beers, bell's has to offer. the settings is all brick and old, just a nice place to drink beer and eat. they also have a firkin tapper, before co2 and beer gas they would put some yeast and sugar in the keg to build up pressure and pump the beer by hand into the glass. they offer one beer by firkin and the same beer with gas, they are not the same. try it.

This is a very nice place with good food. The atmosphere was definetely cool. If you go you need to try one of their "flights". I would definitely go back again.

If you love Michigan microbrews or microbrews in general, Bell's Brewery is a must visit. The building is extremely unique. The beer is top notch and the food is great. Stop by the store too.

House smoked pork, Asian slaw, raspberryhabanero BBQ sauce, pineapple salsa and feta cheese loaded on a plate and served with 5 flour tortillas on the side. Enough to share! $9.50I went originally for the beer, to check out the brewery and to see a local band Zion Lion perform. It was during my visit I discovered the title of my review. Since expanding my palate on spicy I've found I really enjoy sweet and spicy together. I've always been a lover of pulled pork, so more often than not, my first visit at an establisment will involve trying their version. Only one word to describe for me: yummy! I ended up liking the dish so much I coordinated time during to visit for lunch while checking out an antique store just so I could have it again. Now onto the brewery itself. They have multiple sections. Two outside beer gardens side by side, one for smoking and one for non-smoking. I would definitely recommend a visit during summer. Not only is there intersesting lawn ornaments and elements to the garden but the plants are best viewed in summer. The first section has the main bar, there is no table service so all orders need to be placed at the bar. They have a beer board, might take you a few mintues, as it is quite large. They offer flights here so if you can't decide or would like to try more than one it's the way to go. There is back section used for shows which also has a bar, and food can been had in this section too. So once you are done figuring out the layout and figured out a spot to sit, take a moment to look around. I believe the venue is a refurbished building so it has lots of elements from it's previous life as another use. Not to mention the decorations adorning the walls either. I've been twice now, and still don't think I've seen everything.

We went here for dinner and were hoping to watch a football game. Well there is not a single TV in the entire place which made for some time to sit and bond. The beer is the best in Michigan and the food was pretty good as well. I had the Jambalaya and it was good but could have been more spicy. Cannot say enough about the beer here though.

We stopped at Bell's after 1PM and were shocked at how busy it was. We ordered our food and sat outside. All four lunches were just what we needed. The turkey and avocado sandwich is tasty. My husband had the jambalaya which he wouldn't share. Others had the pulled pork and rueben. We did not have the beer flight which looked interesting...and why most people were there.

A friend of mine celebrated his wedding reception at Bell's. The Back Room was fantastic for a mid-size gathering. Private bar with space for eating, dancing, socializing. The staff was great and kept drinks poured and food stocked. Good was catered by the cafe and was delicious (BBQ, Mac n Cheese, salad, beans, etc.) and the beers were exceptional! Definitely recommend for family/friend get togethers.

Bell's has a great selection of their own craft beers, some of which are not bottled and for sale outside of the pub. The food was amazing! The pub reminded me of England in that you have to go to the bar to order your drinks and food - they don't come and serve you.

Bells allows Smoking in the out door area. It is legal. Smokers should enjoy and those who don't smoke be prepared for dirty ashtrays and the smell of smoke while eating (even outdoors).Bells took the low road.

If you are a beer aficionado you must visit Bell's Brewery! On a recent trip to Kalamazoo I had a ton of people tell me that I must stop here....believe it - it doesn't not disappoint. They have a plethora of amazing brews (most they make inhouse). The food was great too - I had some house smoked pork tacos....hmmm hmmm good!

I really enjoyed going to Bell's. Not only good beer, but cool decorations. Only downside - SO BUSY! I have been here twice now.

First, a lot of people seem to be mixing up this facility with the Eccentric Cafe downtown Kalamazoo - which makes me wonder if they have been to either. This is the corporate office and new 200bbl production and packaging facility. You can also see the original production brewery here, still in use - 50bbl, I think.Mon - Fri they offer self guided tours from 10am - 4pm. You walk in on the ground level. Walk upstairs and you literally walk through the brewhouse. What you see in the brewhouse will determine if they are brewing or not. If they are not brewing, you may look into the grinder, mash tun, etc.. You can then walk and see the original smaller brewhouse, finally continue on to the bottling and packaging viewing deck (windows). When I visited there was a person stationed in the brewhouse, he was knowledgable about the brewing process and product line... and made sure I know I could ask questions. On Saturday guided tours are available. This is a great way to see one of the United States largest craft brewers -- the facility is beautiful. Bell's is currently the 7th largest craft brewer in the United States.

We had a great lunch and some fantastic beers at Bell's. They had a huge selection on tap and trying the flights of beer was a lot of fun. The beer garden is beautiful and looks like a great spot to hang out and hear some music. We're already planning a trip back soon!

First let me say that this brewery is not the same as Bell's Eccentric Cafe, which is the downtown Kalamazoo location. This is the actual brewery. It does not have a taproom or offer food. My husband and I were offered a VIP tour through our membership in the Michigan Brewers Guild. Because this was a special event, our tour guide was permitted to give us samples of a recent special brew, the Sparkleberry, which was also available at the Bell's Eccentric Cafe. Normally, however, tour guests are encouraged to visit the Eccentric Cafe for samples. Our guide, Clay, was very knowledgeable and had an answer for even some of the toughest questions about the brew process from some very hardcore beer enthusiasts. The facility was very clean and beautiful. We didn't actually go "behind the scenes" into the bottling area or see the brewing process in up close, but we could see everything from the vantage point offered by the numerous windows above where the beer was being made. This tour was fun, brief, educational, and we got some free Bell's schwag like buttons and pens and bumper stickers. If you're curious about how Michigan's flagship craft brewery works, check this facility out, then head ten minutes down the road to downtown Kalamazoo for a bite and a sampler. You won't be disappointed.
