With multiple floors of exhibits, and tons of history about the area of Kalamazoo and surrounding areas, this little museum amazed us! They change the exhibits throughout the year so you may not see the same thing twice on another visit. An informative and entertaining way to spend a few hours!
Highly engaging and fun museum! Much to learn and do - plus it's free!! Great for babies, toddlers, elementary level students.
This place is awesome and its free. We loved every bit of it. Lots of hands on stuff to. We really enjoyed checking this place out. Lots of stuff to learn.
I came here for my college class and still had a good time even though it's designed for kids. I helped some young ones build some cars and even learned some things from the exhibits. Great free activity for a rainy day.
All of the Museum is great except the parking. You will have to pay for parking in a ramp or on street
Even the Kalamazoo Valley Museum is on the small side- the exhibits are always kept fresh and interesting. This is a great place to spend a rainy day with the kiddos.
Like mentioned above, it is a cute and hidden treasure. There is a fantastic planetarium that we went and watched the show. ONLY $3. The exhibits are well done and very well laid out. The staff is nice and always around if you want to ask anything. We got to see their Civil War attraction that they are showing now and it is WOW. The artifacts and the story and the way it is displayed is great. It was Smithsonian quality. Great job. In fact, being here 3 days in a row for business, I had time all 3 days to stop in and see and read everything.
Great small kids museum. Free to get in. Love it! Lots of great places to eat nearby. They often have special exhibits. Worth your time.
Right in the middle of downtown Kalamazoo is this little treasure of a museum. It was fun reading facts and about the history of Kalamazoo. And, even better, it was free. If you are in Kalamazoo, please check this place out.
I took my oldest child there she had a blast and I enjoyed it myself especially the mummy.A very Nice surprise
This is a great place to take you kids when nothing else is going on. You can spend an hour or so walking through the open areas and when we went, it was free.
I was very impressed with this museum. It was a last minute stop before I left Kalamazoo. I could have stayed longer but could not. Lots to see and do and it was free.
If you have small children it is a great place to go. We didn't see the shows to verify for older children. But for adults... Bells is down the street.
This museum is very family friendly. There is lots of interesting things for the adults, (don't miss the mummy) but they have plenty of hands-on things for the kids to do. This is a multi-level museum tucked into beautiful downtown Kalamazoo. There is convenient parking in the Arcadia parking garage nearby. Paying for parking isn't so bad since there is no admission fee for the museum. They do have special programs like the planetarium and space adventures that have a small fee. Even without these, there is still a lot to see.
Pro's - for once a well-organized museum, CLEAN, pretty darn cool exhibits that are hands one, great history of the city, extremely child friendly, parking garage right across the street, nice downtown area.Con's - a strange amount of homeless people wandering the area.Overall - great attraction if you have 1-2 hours to kill. very close to Bell's and Arcadia Brewing companies. IT IS FREE!!!!
