This park has so many reasons to visit. We love the paved bike trails. You can choose flat or challenge yourself to a few hills. The scenery is lovely. The lake is great to walk around but even better for swimming or renting a paddle boat or kyack. They have a pretty picnic are and wonderful playgrounds. We are always impressed at how clean this park is.
Beautiful park with picnic areas, fishing areas, swimming and walking areas. Something for everyone. :)
Miss the beach in Grand Rapids? No problem. You'll love the beach and watersports here, complete with snack bar and well appointed locker rooms. A great place for a family staycation. There are hiking trails, an amazing water park, gardens, and so much more. So well planned and reasonably priced. Bring your picnic basket and make a day of it.
We buy season passes for millennium Park every year and visit almost every other weekend. I love the fact that it's a small lake, so it's easy to keep an eye on the kids. Always a great fun time there!
Beautiful, huge park area with a lake to swim/kayak/paddleboard (rentals), beach (fee) and lots and lots of trails. You can go/bike/run for many miles, connecting to kent trails and Johnson Park leading all the way to JB Zoo. The trails are gravel, dirt and paved. Great addition to GR recreation
Living only a few minutes away, I come here on my bike often in the Summer months! I definitely go kayaking at least once a year with my friends with their available boat house. The beach is great, too! (Of course when it's not frozen!) I also love walking the trails on warmish winter days. I remember coming here since I was really little!
This is a very nice little beach area. It is clean and nicely maintained. It also has a splash pad and boat rentals. There are restrooms and showers. There is also a small snack bar.
Great park for hiking, walking, running, and just general park fun. Its a couple gravel pit lakes linked by a great paved trail that goes miles around and connects with other parts of the trail that go into Grandville and further into Grand Rapids. The Marathon uses part of the trail and it connects to a nice river side trail. The park itself has a nice playground, basketball hoops, and in the summer, they have kayak and paddle boat rentals. The water is a little sketchy sometimes so check with someone there. They have plans for this park for the future to possibly have a bandshell too.
We go every year for a work picnic and I've also gone with friends and family. It's a large space with a great deal of things to do for all ages. In the better seasons, there are courts for sports like volleyball. There's outdoor grilling, and covered seating space, in case there's way too much sun. Multiple playgrounds if you're with little ones, and even swings adults can enjoy. There's a beach on the backside which you have to pay to get in for, but its an absolutely gorgeous place! It's very well-maintained and there's plenty of room for multiple parties to enjoy and privately so. I went once in June and it was VERY sunny, hot to a point, but beautifully windy!
Love the addition of SUPs, kayaks and paddle boats. Walk, rollarblade enjoy the water or just be. A lovely environmentally friendly space.
Lot's of hiking areas that change with the seasons. Went for a picnic for Michigan Tech. Pavilions are nice and well maintained.
Saw a Jazz concert outdoors. Excellent offerings in the presentation of acoustics as well as look and feel of the park.Nicely maintained and easy to walk through and around. A really pleaseant setting to take a moment to yourself or see the activities they are doing.I happened to pick a perfect weather day, so it was really delightful
We were visiting due to a triathlon we were a part of and were blown away with how nice this park was. Everything from the parking, to the buildings, concessions, and beach were top notch. Having the chance to bike and run through the park, we found additional shelters/picnic areas and a sand volleyball court that one could not see from the parking lots and main entrance. The beach was very clean and the spray park for the little kids was great.
I am originally from the area and took my kids to Millennium Park for a day while visiting family. I was very impressed by the setup of the park, the amount of activities, it's cleanliness, and it's affordability. We spent more than 5 hours at the park playing on the beach and in the water and we also went paddle boarding and kayaking. I would love to return in the future and check out the incredible trail system. The concessions are also very good and I thought everything was reasonably priced. We will definitely return to the park on our next visit back to Michigan. Other cities could learn a thing or two from this park - well done, GR!
Grand Kids love this park! They love to play in the splash pad. Great place to cool off & have fun for a reasonable price...$4 for adults $2 for Kids 3-15 & tots under 3 are free...
