I've been here or two Metropolitan Opera in HD broadcasts. It is a beautiful place with fine sound to view these wonderful broadcasts. And it is truly exciting to realize this was designed to present opera from a time when opera companies traveled thru our country to provide popular entertainment.
We enjoyed the show. We have just one complaint. We were sitting in the Second Balcony, for the musical, and it was difficult to understand all the dialogue. They need to do sometning about that problem. The theatre itself is wonderful. Have been on tour there, with a friend. Beautiful place.
Have really enjoyed visiting the Ramsdell to view the Met. Beautiful theater and the only way to see the Met-through simulcast. Privy to stage changes, and interviews of the cast.
I noted a review of the Ramsdell Theatre that said that it was drafty and the seats were uncomfortable. There has been a $3,000,000 renovation of the theatre and it is decidedly not uncomfortable. It may be that the person who wrote the review was thinking of the Movie theatre. If that's the case your should know that there is currently a $2,400,00 renovation taking place that should be done in January of 2014...making it a state of the art movie house. So remember, things change.
They have a beautiful ballroom on the second floor with a grand staircase. It was a great room for a wedding that I attended. It had a kitchen up there too, so very handy for the caterer.
We have seen many performances at the Ramsdell, and have enjoyed every one of them. It is the perfect venue to view a play, as there is not a bad seat in the house. We went to see White Christmas last December, and the setting was beautiful. What a great place to be around Christmas.
The Ramsdell Theatre is the central gem in Manistee, MI. Beautifully restored lobby and theatre and with the updated sound system and new HVAC it is comfortable in all seasons. The Ballroom on the 3rd floor of Hardy Hall (attached to the Ramsdell Theatre) is a favored venue for weddings, receptions and many community events, my personal favorite is the Festival of the Trees during the Old Christmas Weekend & Sleighbell Parade.
This Historic Victorian era theater rivals any we have been to in Chicago, New York, or Toronto. staffed by volunteers, home to a community theatre group and arts council. Renovated recently keeping all the original historic qualities and charm. Now home to the MET via satellite.
This old theater has been historically restored, and features many plays and performances. A friendly neighborhood within walking distance of downtown , it's worth a tour thru it just to see the building.
The historic well kept building is staffed mostly by volunteers that really know their stuff. Lovely painted ceiling. An updated sound system, all new seating. A lovely venue and I try to go often.
A fully restored turn of the century (1903) theatre which hosts excellent local productions, concerts and even movies. It was the starting point for James Earl Jones and more recently Toni Trucks.
Plays are good, and the actors do a wonderful job, however the seats are so uncomfortable, and the place is drafty. Seems they could do more to make the building more people friendly.
Well-restored theatre, very unique! The whole facility is impressive. There is an art gallery which looked interesting, although we didn't have time to see the show that was opening.
They have very nice shows and events here. The theater is redone beautufully and it is comfortable too.
This theatre consistently presents excellent home town quality productions. Presented are a wide variety of plays and musicals.
