Located in downtown Midland, three bridges uniting to become one bridge in the center. Interesting design and it was surrounded by park where you can jog in the morning for an exercise.
What is a "TRIDGE?"It's one of the few 3-legged bridges in the world. Go and enjoy. It's free, clean, and a nice area of Midland shopping.
The Tridge is located in Midland Michigan. It is a three way pedestrian footbridge. Built over the Tittabawassee and Chippewa rivers, The Tridge marks the spot where the two rivers meet. Most cities are creating walkways for people that jog, walk, and ride their bicycles and when I saw this bridge I said how nice to cross a river way in three different directions. Nice!
A great place to relax and enjoy the views. You never know what may come across the bridge and on the water below.
Great place for wedding pics especially in the Fall. Very unique one of a kind bridge! You can take the Tridge over to walking trails along the water.
Tridge is located in a area where you can walk, even "railway" starts there. Well, it was changed into paved path where you can cycle. The bridge has a special construction - really interesting.
My son and I visit this park now and then when we are in Midland. It's fun to be so high in the air, and the park offers places for children to play. My son loved it when he was around ten and found a muskrat near the river. We took many pictures. The down side is that the ground is not properly drained. So we are often slogging through spongy grass and mud. Think about taking waterproof footwear. No matter the time of year, the landscaping has disappointed me. No colors, everything is brown and green. Very natural, but I like the parks in Mount Pleasant better. The public restrooms are the usual dingy for parks, not filthy.A quaint part of Midland is within walking distance. We love the candy shop and the cafe. I've eaten at the pizza place (forgot the name?) Get there before 4pm cause everything closes silly-early. Many places are closed Sunday, some on Saturday, so check in advance. The Tridge is close to a highway junction and a gas station, so it's pretty accessible and never full of people.
very unique feature for a downtown area,Be careful of people on bikes,My 75 year old father was hit on the bridge by a guy on a bike and the biker was very rude,he never offered any kind of apology for hitting my father. My father told this guy several times he was sorry and never heard this guy coming. But this guy still gave us dirty looks and was on his way
Would always love coming here as a kid and jumping off into the water it was always a blast! Not to mention the trails followed in on direction.. Definitely a must stop while visiting Midland! Will always remember the place as a fun time in the Summer!
Enjoyed walking this unique bridge that spans two rivers. Lovely park/farmers market area nestled in downtown Midland. Would definitely enjoy visiting this again!
It's a couple of rivers and a unique bridge, but we enjoyed our end of the day stroll around the area, which included this.
We visited Midland for a night and wish we would have scheduled a longer visit. What a beautiful city! It's obvious that the Dow Corporation has invested much into the community, but on top of that, we were impressed with the obvious pride that the residents take in their town. The streets are so clean and properties are maintained and people were so friendly. When we saw The Tridge in the AAA travel book we had to stop and check it out. Glad we did!!! Awesome park and a great place to take a walk and enjoy beautiful scenery and lovely smells from all the flowers and plants. We will be coming back to Midland next year to spend more time. If you love nature, be sure to visit this great city!!!
The bridge is the star of this park and a must see. As for the rest there is a small concession and bathroom area with well paved bicycle and walking paths and a few benches and picnic tables.
Neat park. Clean & lots of places to walk, bike, venture out & see. Pet friendly. Great exercise place. Unique adventure. 3 rivers come together at The Tridge. Definitely an adventure to experience.
Love to visit the tridge on my evening bike rides though Midland. Great place to start a new adventure!
