I hate to be negative but the mall is certainly not as nice a place as when it first opened. However there still are several popular shops and it seems they try to keep it nice inside. A big disappointment is the lack of places to eat inside the mall. The mall would be a nicer place to shop if there were restaurants where you could grab a quick sandwich. But everything that opens up there seems not to last very long. There are several places located outside the mall though.
My granddaughters and I visit this mall about three times a year during our family outings. The food court is all but gone :( However, the girls love to play in the playarea with a Michigan theme, there is a large sandcastle to climb on and a lighthouse to play in. The anchor stores are clean and well stocked whenever I am shopping. I was sorry to see the Hallmark store and our favorite toy store of ever (Funtoytistic, I think was the name) have left the mall. Clean restrooms and pop is available in machines if you can't find it in the food court.
The Lakes Mall is certainly not the largest in the state, however, it does provide a good variety of stores meeting the demands of consumers. I have found I don't need to travel to the so-called big city to find something that isn't available at the Lakes Mall.
Not the greatest of family atmospheres, plenty of rude people in a confined space. Relatively small and congested, very crowded most of the time. The bigger stores, Sears and JC Penney, have their own entrance which is very nice for those of us wanting to avoid obnoxious crowds of rude teens/tweens and their just as unruly parents. For my money, I prefer to go to Grandville. Much bigger mall and overall better behaved crowd.
I recently visited this mall with friends and family. Smaller than most but the teenage ladies found what thay were looking for. This venue is clean and easily accessible from Michigan Highway 31 and is only about an hour from the Silver Lake / Ludington area. The location has a Yonkers but not a Macy's and the Sears store is smaller than most. A nice diversion on a rainy day. There are several restaurants and other strip malls including a Best Buy near this location.
It's a decent mall with a good variety of stores. It has a cute train for the kids to ride and a cute play area. It could be a little bigger but its an good size mall for the Muskegon area
The mall is medium size. Has a few anchors of the 'old' stores. Jcpenneys and sears. Few other store such as Dicks sporting goods and Victoria secret. It's worthy of a stop.
