My daughter needed to do a project for school about the Plymouth Historical Museum so one Sunday afternoon we went. First of all, the staff is so friendly and informative. We really enjoyed talking to them. The upstairs of the museum is called Main St. and looks like a small town Main Street would. I really enjoyed the downstairs, which is a Plymouth timeline. They had displays dating back to when the Native Americans were in Plymouth and going up until about the 80's. We had a woman who walked each display with us and it was so interesting! I was surprised at all the things that were made in Plymouth. I honestly wasn't looking forward to going but was so pleasantly surprised. I can't wait to go back with my husband!! For younger kids, they have a scavenger hunt paper for the kids to fill out. They can take it to the gift shop for a little prize when it's completed. The entrance fee is cheap. It was $5 for me and $2 for my daughter. We were there for about an hour and a half. I recommend it to anyone in the area.

My family was looking forward to learning about local history as well as seeing the "Lincoln" exhibit. The first floor was dedicated to Christmas with each exhibit representing a different movie. Mildly entertaining since the exhibits could only loosely be associated with the chosen movies. For example, The Nutcracker was an exhibit of old dolls, Elf was an exhibit with a cardboard cutout of Buddy and some stuffed elf dolls and a fake Christmas Tree, etc. Not really the local history we were looking for.The second floor is more dedicated to local history. Collections of items have really no explanation so you are basically just looking at stuff with no understanding of why. Collections are grouped together like old dishes and cash registers. We could have visited an antique mall and learned about just as much local history. The Lincoln exhibit was a huge disapoinment to all of us. It is basically an exhibit about Lincoln with artifacts that are not directly linked to him. A representation of a log that would have looked like one used in his boyhood home, a recreation on Ms. Lincoln's dress, statues and busts, etc. The docent in the Lincoln room was very knowledgeable and we appreciated his time talking to us about Lincoln but we didn't see anything that really made our day. There was an original newspaper from his assassination and supposedly a lock of hair taken when he died, but that really was it. We could have done a Google search to see the artifacts that were mass produced during Lincoln's life and after his death and it would have been just as interesting. We planned on spending at least an hour and completed the entire museum in 15 minutes. While the staff were very nice, they kept trying to push the kids scavenger hunt on us. Even if it had more explanation about the exhibits it could not have saved this sinking ship.

Small museum but nicely done. Staff is generally friendly. Great Lincoln collection and interesting rotating exhibits. Kid friendly.

Superb repository of local history; a trip back in time. Local history is downstairs, special exhibits on ground floor. Courteous and knowledgeable attendants, most of whom are volunteers.

It is a small museum but has a nice collection devoted to Lincoln In particular I like the life size model of the man and his wife. He surely was tall and thin as the proverbial rail.

We visit here at least once a year. The Abraham Lincoln room is packed full of very good Lincoln history. We love walking the past streets of Plymouth. Feels like stepping back in time. The dollhouse is always a favorite. We really enjoyed the fashion history show of clothes that is new display. The staff is always eager to help. A nice way to spend an hour or three.

This museum is small and from the outside you wouldn't expect much, but it's actually filled with interesting things both from Plymouth's considerable history and also a number of iconic early American items. It is absolutely worth the time to take a walk through if you happen to catch them open.

I must admit - I had a special interest in this museum, as my dad has a couple ties to local business, so being here with him was especially meaningful to me. But even for someone without the personal interest, this museum is full of interesting, informative exhibits. The Daisy exhibit had special meaning to me, as my dad worked there in sales and education for 15 years. Love how they took part of the old factory floor and used it in the exhibit (complete with all the imbedded BBs) and the display of all the Red Rider guns and other toys... just wonderful. The Lincoln exhibit is also top-notch, and the docent in that room so knowledgeable and delightful. Reasonable admission rate and also a Blue Star museum, so if you are a veteran or active military, check for specials!

The upper level is a series of shop fronts filled with local and made in America products. I even saw a few things I own.

This place is tucked away in downtown Plymouth. I drove past it dozens of times without hardly noticing. We went there because my son needed to have a cultural event for school. I was amazed at all of the things they had. A lot of it brought back childhood memories. We went when they had the Lincoln exhibit, which was also really cool. It is amazing to have a place like that in your own neighborhood. The docents were all really enthusiastic and well-informed. They were passionate about the exhibits, which was really nice. I am sure we will go back.

This museum was truly fun and very pleasurable to walk through. The cost is relatively small, and they have a number of rotating exhibits. The staff of volunteers was very pleasant, and I'd go back again.

We visited when the WWII exhibit was on display. The museum is two floors with the upstairs being larger than down. Admission is five dollars, and I felt that it was worth the price. The artifacts are displayed nicely. It is obvious a lot of time and thought went into the exhibits. The Lincoln room was impressive because of the actual artifacts that Plymouth has obtained. The lower level is dedicated to local history, so that was pretty cool to see. I would go again when their main exhibit changes.

The Lincoln Room has an amazing collection of Abraham Lincoln's memoriabilia that becomes the story of his life. Much of the collection was collected by a historian and donated to the museum. Volunteer attendant very knowledgeable and interesing. The 2 floors are a walk down the history of American Life, including special exhibits thatoccur periodically. Since it is in downtown Plymouth, a nice walk to restaurants, coffee shops andstores is a great followup to the museum visit.
