This was our first concert at the Fillmore and we weren't disappointed. We had general admission tickets for the balcony, so we were a bit nervous going in. However, we easily found seats and there really wasn't a bad seat in the house. This is one of those beautiful, old theaters that was built back when they paid attention to detail. The theater probably holds about 2,000 but there are no pillars to obstruct the view and the slope was enough so that everyone can see and you're not trying to peek over the head in front of you.The only issue we had was with how they lined people up outside. They would not allow people to line up on the street that the Fillmore is on, rather it was around the block and the line was designed to cross the street twice as you snaked into the venue. The sidewalks we were lined up on also had not had snow removal, so it wasn't an ideal situation. The least they could do is remove snow and ice on the sidewalks where you line up. I will say that once they began letting people in, the line moved quickly so we weren't out in the cold very long. The bar on the balcony area was backed up as they only had 1 bartender working.
A group of 4 went to see Billy Idol last night and it was my first time here. I liked the place! The worst part was getting into a long line outside in the cold to wait to get in but everyone was friendly and the line moved steadily. A very quick "search" of body and/or purses (nobody in our party was patted down). Several bars to grab a drink - an expensive drink I may add, but not unexpected. Large beers $9 and Captain Morgan and Diet $10 - but the bartenders were great with acknowledgement while so very busy. The place wasn't new, but that was part of the charm. Be careful of many steps down to the stage or stairs up to the balcony or down to the restrooms. The parking garage was just a 5 or 6 minute walk away and we ate right next door before the show. Overall, a good experience.

We visited the Fillmore to see the J Geils Concert. Awesome concert! Awesome venue! Friendly, knowledgeable staff! I will definitely return here for other concerts and events.
Hi, Tim-Thank you for the lovely review. I'm so pleased to hear that you were treated well and had a good experience with us. I've passed your comments on to our management and operations team and appreciate your candor.Hope to have you back again soon.Amanda
Thanks for the awesome review. It's great to hear the line was efficient and that staff were helpful at your recent visit. I'll let our guest services manager know about your positive review. As you found out, the seating layout is very strategic. Every seat (even at the tip-top) have a great view. We also take great pride in restoring the building; it's an ongoing process and I'm thankful you've noticed.Hope to see you again soon.Amanda
Taylor- Wow! Thank you so much for the great review. You did indeed figure out one of the sweet spots in the building. And while every seat is great, because of the way they are banked, there are some tricks to finding those hidden-gem GA spots. If you're ever here and looking for a place to sit, consider our VIP tables. The best one, in my opinion, is directly behind the soundboard, in front of the main bar.Cheers,Amanda
Glad to hear you enjoyed both the movie and The Fillmore. The screening was definitely intriguing and we love bringing movies back to the venue whenever we can. Thank you for being a part of this most recent round. It's such a classic experience to see a film in a traditional theater setting and I'm pleased we provided such a good experience for you.Thank you!
We were in the VIP section upstairs, it was a bit disappointing because the service to get your drinks was faster downstairs to the regular section. However the evening was fun minus the random chicks taking off their clothes, jumping on the stage and just twerking.
Make sure you understand how seating works before you go...They allow " premium " seating in first to pick there non assigned seats.. If its in the winter, or rain 7pm start might lead to an hour of misery before your let in... Theater has seen better days, but the bones are there.. Not enough bathrooms either..My advice GO ADVISED of how seating works.. Also, keep this in mind when buying your tix
Went to see Passenger, only Mike played onstage. He was amazing, such a talented guy. The Fillmore provided an intimate setting, great acoustics, and Mike made the concert one to remember. As with any concert, short people shouldn't even attempt to struggle in the standing area near the stage. Its best to find standing room on one of the bottom balconies or pay for seats in the mezzanine area.Nonetheless, the Fillmore was amazing, equaling Cincinnati's Music Hall or any other classic venue. Passenger (Mike Rosenberg) lived up to all my expectations, I can't wait to see him again.
Last time I was here (it was longer than 2013 but choices didn't allow for that option) it was still called the State Theater but I understand it's undergone a major renovation. It was a great venue to see alternative music shows at. Last time I was there was to see the Pet Shop Boys.
Very intimate. I love seeing a show here. I have seen quite a few shows and this is the place I like the most.
What a great place to see a concert! My husband and I came from Cleveland to see the Flaming Lips concert at the Fillmore. This was the second time we'd been lucky enough to see them there. I've been to a lot of concerts, and I think that the Fillmore may be my favorite indoor concert venue. We sat in the balcony, in the second row, and the experience was great. There are bathrooms in the balcony, as well as a bar, and being short, I can stand in the balcony and actually SEE the performance. It's a fairly small space, so no place in far from the stage. The bar is well stocked. Drinks were reasonable. I think a large draft beer was $8. Top shelf mixed drinks (double shots) were $12.After the show, my husband and I had a difficult time catching a taxi back to our hotel. The worker doing crowd control told us that the city has started ticketing cabs for idling outside after concerts, so they don't come through as much. What a disservice to the cab drivers and the responsible drinkers. It's a loss of revenue for the drivers, and without them being readily available, I'm sure some people will make poor choices that otherwise wouldn't. Luckily, one came through that we were able to wave down. I love the Fillmore, and I will be back!
