Excellent condition! Fun to play but challenging also. A great bargain. We will come back when in Ludington, MI
Nice well kept public golf course. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices. Clubhouse has a nice deck out back looking over the course.
My brother and I play this course once a year and we continue to be amazed at the landscape and the natural beauty. Many difficult holes but worth the time.
Golfed Hemlock Golf Club for the first time last week....... LOVE LOVE LOVE this course!!!!I am a new golfer but hubby is a 15 handycap --- i played better than he did!!!!! lol!!Eventhough i played from the yellow tees, this course was not only challenging but oh my gosh, was it beauytiful, especially during the early part of October. Some holes are scarry as heck and others are sooooo dang unusual -- could not ask for anything better -- $30.00 per/p with cart for 18 holes -- are you kidding me!!!!!!!!Mike at the front desk was extremley helpfull -- let us know which holes we had to look out for and where to shoot (right or left) -- very very helpfull.Course was in excellent condition!!
I had heard good things about the course and met some friends for 9. The clubhouse was like a modular home. It was clean and decent on the inside with a deck overlooking the course. All of the staff was very nice. The course was in excellent condition. Fairways were well maintained as were the greens and bunkers. The course winds back and forth through mature trees. Many of the holes have sand traps or waste bunkers. Beautiful! In all, it is a great course at a reasonable price. I will go back.
nice course, greens are good as the rest, however trash can's are far and few between, as well as port a potty s, and when I was there again this year there was no cart girl, but there was a range guy out, which i found unnessary for a week day, I found that they spend more time cleaning carts than other things that could be done.I know it's showing a 3 star, however it should be a 2 1/2 who ever is running the golf club needs to get to work...
Clean, nice course with many challenges. My husband golfs here every time we are in the area and he really enjoys the course.
After crossing Lake Michigan on the car ferry we stayed the night in Ludington and decided to play some golf early the next day before hitting the road. Hemlock had good reviews and looked interesting on its website. It was absolutely outstanding! The tee boxes were like carpeting, the fairways like greens, and the greens were perfectly smooth. Carved out of the hemlock forest, each hole was interesting. We especially liked the architect's use of large wasteland bunkering; it reminded us of a Mike Strantz (our favorite) course. Fairly priced, with a friendly staff, including the groundskeepers who stopped to talk to us, this course made our top 10! If you love golf and are within 100 miles of Ludington this is a real gem that you "must" play.
My group played this course in April. And I will never forget those greens.... Unreal very fast and very smooth and 100% playable for ALL levels!!Simple clubhouse and decent range. But go for the course my top courses in Michigan.
My friend and I golfed 18 holes at Hemlocks last Thursday, May 2013. This was our third time golfing there. It is one of our favorite courses because each hole feels like it is all alone. The holes are well separated by trees. Carts are a must. The holes are challenging and visually appealing. The course is in fantastic condition with the fairway turf super short and manicured perfectly. The greens are "spongy" which makes them a treat to play on. We signed up for our free birthday golf which is a deal!
Beautiful natural woods layout with plenty of risk-reward shots. Friendly staff. Dense woods separate the holes making you feel you are the only group on the course. Multiple tee boxes and bailout landing areas make it fun for all handicaps. Inexpensive drinks and food and lots of specials help the budget. A great way to spend the day!
Don't miss out on this course, beautiful layout, lots of risk rewards shots. The greens are challenging and fair , with multiple tee boxes you can pick the right one for your game .Plus it is short drive to Lake Michigan and Ludington state park!!
our family always plays and has a great time. I got a double birdie on the 9th the last time...Wow the reason you come back is for shots like that.
Hemlock is a name of poison, and your swear that's how you feel the first time you play...but their is something that draws you back to play again and again. The layout is unique, many natural hazards and plenty of great scenery. The club house is a large modular type of building, but have a grill and pro shop along with a good collection of cigars on hand. So if you name your poison and it is Hemlock this place will cure you of become bored with you golf game. Plus the people that run this place are real nice folks.
Beautiful course, excellent greens, neat but tough back to back par 5's, #11 & #12, #18 is a great finishing hole (use an extra club to the green). Excellent value for such a great course.
