I really enjoyed the golf course. A little expensive, but likely the best course layout and condition in the area. A very enjoyable golf outing.

We have played the Fortress for many years, and it has always been in fantastic condition and provides the best value for your dollar. However, this year the course was incredible! The best conditions we have ever experienced. Can't wait to play it again!

We drive from South of Flint to play this course and we rely enjoy the course as well as the beautiful town of Frankenmuth, we will return again.

Is truly one of the nicest public courses in the country. manicured like a private country club. is in really good shape. challenging but very enjoyable. is a scenic course that I always enjoy playing

I've experienced many golf courses, throughout several states, but this course was, by far, the best, ever. It was challenging, but fun. The excellent care given to the course, as well as the beauty that surrounds the course, as well as the entire city of Frankenmuth, make this a destination you'll seek.

Finished playing this week with a group of 24 senior golfers of all handicaps and everyone had a very enjoyable round. Greens had just been sanded but ran true and fairways were very well kept. Will make an annual trip to this gem

We have golfed here for the last few years and it's one of our favorites. The golf course is well kept and the starters are always very friendly and helpful with the golf tips!

This was our 11th year of travelling to golf at The Fortress with three other couples and the ladies shopped at the Birch Run outlet mall. The course was in excellent shape and great rates for seniors for a course of this quality. A must play if your in the area. It's the best course in this part of Michigan.If you need accommodations stay at the Country Inn and Suites in Birch Run adjacent to the Outlet Mall. Great value and only 5 minute drive to the Fortress.

This is the ONLY time you'll see me near a golf course.A special event on Friday evenings during the summer (right next to the golf course), is the Zehnder's BBQ cookout series. There are different themes each Friday. The one I attended was Kansas City Style Ribs Night. All you can eat ribs (and other filler food distractions...why bother...you came here to eat ribs!) for $25. plus additional for drinks.I just can't help but think of comedian John Pinette when I eat here (get outta the line!!!). I don't golf... but I can eat. This place is great for golfers AND eaters...uhhhh...mostly eaters.

perfectly maintained -- every day. Likeable rates, not expensive.Wide variety of holes and playable too. Nice pro shop and19th hole to cool off. Call ahead, very busy weekends.

I have golfed at Fortress 5 years in a row as part of an annual golf trip to Michigan in May. The course has always been in fantastic condition. The fairways and greens are terrrific. Highliy recommend this course to anyone visiting the Frankenmuth, MI area. 5 minutes off I75 and close to outlet mall in Birch Run, MI.

Excellent golf course, well laid out, superb condition and great value for senior's. Our group of 4 guys have played The Fortress 3 times in each year of our coming to Birch Run/Frankenmuth over a 10 year period. Looking forward to our 2014 trip.

The course is fun, the easy course even helps you on some holes! The topography is cool, at the top you have a spectacular view of the area. What a fun way to take time out from the Frankenmuth vacation!!!

Played the course on a Saturday afternoon after 2pm to get the twilight rate for 39 bucks. Very reasonable rate for a quality course on a Saturday. The course is kept up very well for the amount of play, the greens were a little beat up because of so many ball marks but I have seen a lot worse.The course is around 6900 from the tips so its not overlee long. It has a very nice layout and some nice scenery. A real playable course but make sure to stay out of the heather which can come into play off the tee on certain holes.I look forward to playing the course again.

Has the feel of a "links-type" course that is very well maintained. Excellent service. Affordable. The clubhouse is nothing to write home about, but who cares, you're there to play a round of golf at a very nice course.
