Budweiser provides lush accommodations for their only Clydesdale breeding ranch. Tours are available with advance coordination. The guides patiently explain the very critical selection process to be chosen for a Budwiser beer wagon parade hitch. There is also an opportunity to sample Budweiser beverages as well as a gift shop.Easy access just 1/4 mile east of I-70 exit 111 on the North side of the highway. I suggest you call first at (660) 882-5744.
This was a great tour for kids and adults alike. It's amazing how clean the facility is especially handling such large animals. There is not always foals so check before going if that's important. I would definetly recommend.
We went here on October 17th. The tour guides were very informative. We saw baby horses. My friend caught a video of one of the babies being nursed by her momma .It was a very clean place. My granddaughter really enjoyed this.
We have been taking groups to the ranch since its move to Missouri. The first two visits during the first year were fine but the tour guides were very stilted. Today's group had Natalie and Shani who both put their personalities and enthusiasm for the ranch into their tour. They are knowledgeable as well as efficient in leading the tour. Everyone felt as though they had plenty of time for questions and answers. One thing I did not instruct MY group to do was to turn of their cell phones. I had to tell two different people to not answer or walk far away from the group as it is so quiet out in the countryside, you could easily hear them talking. So that would be something I would tell other group leaders to enforce as it is a mixed tour with other people outside of our own. This is one and a half hours plus a relaxed time for photos with one of the clydes. Be sure to dress for the weather as it can get a bit breezy when the barn doors are open. I recommend for tour groups and families alike. One note for groups with people with walking difficulty, there's not a lot of walking but a lot of standing. Bringing a portable stool along is wise to enjoy the tour.
This is a hidden gem that more people need to discover. Located between St. Louis and Kansas City on I-70, it's an easy drive and well worth the trip. The setting is just beautiful and the tour very informative. If you're lucky, you'll even to see a 6 day old foal like we did. The horses are the star of the show, they are very well taken care of, the stables are immaculate and location bucolic. Plan ahead though, it's hard to get tickets ($10) as they sell out quickly and tours are conducted only from April 1 thru October 31. For you Bud fans, there is even beer at the end.
I really enjoyed my visit. The group was large like others said but you were able to hear everything they said just fine. Everyone was able to see. We stayed in the back then just looked when everyone cleared out and that was fine with me. The ladies that gave the tour were fun and friendly. The babies were sweet hearts. Got to see Memory and Jack.
The tour guides were very informative, but we felt the tour group was too large. As we were moving from one area to the next, the tour guide would start telling about the area but not everyone was there, so we missed parts of what she said. Also it was hard to see what she was talking about because of the size of the group. We were able to see a 3 month old foal with her mom, but it was hard to get pictures due to the bars on the stable. Overall we did enjoy the tour, just wish it was little bit smaller of a group. Felt it was a great price.
Truly a wonderful two-hour experience for all ages :) The ranch does not take walk-up visitors, so you have to make your reservations ahead of time. If you arrive 15-30 minutes early for your tour time, they let you in the front gate and you are able to stop next to a huge 'W' from the Budweiser plant in St. Louis. Just behind the 'W' is a fenced off pasture with Clydesdales that would happy to volunteer for some petting and picture time :) The tour is about an hour and is fantastic. You get to see the breeding/foaling areas, some of the soon-to-be-mom mares (depending upon when you visit, of course!), a walk through the stalls and some close-ups of some of the wonderful horses, the area where they are washed and groomed, a look at how they are transported and one of the new-born clydesdales from this year! The tour finishes back where you started and you get picture opportunities and as much petting and close-up time as you wish with one of the horses that they bring out for you to interact with one on one :)The guides do a great job, and it is neat to see just how well taken care of these great horses are! The ranch itself is incredibly beautiful, and consists of over 340 acres. The gift shop area is very nice too ---- and prices are very reasonable on many of items for the kids too! (stuffed clydesdale horses for the kids were only $10 for a small and $15 for a large one). Definitely worth a visit!
I tried calling the ranch for serveral days to make a reservation for a tour. I was left on hold with only a recording playing that "someone" would be with me soon. No one ever answered the phone. The day we were in Boonville I finally wnt online and it said all tours were sold out. We drove by the ranch to see a huge gate and a sign that said you were not welcome if you had not made a reservation. We were driving from Colorado to Michigan and purposly took this route to visit the ranch. Very diaappointing. I wish the phone recording would tell that you could not see anything unless you had a tour reservation. I felt VERY UNWELCOME!!!
Wonderful experience to see the facilities for the Clydesdales. Very informative. Guides do an excellent job-all staff very friendly. You get to pet the horses. Great for any age group. Need reservations for tour.
I have been trying to get reservations for months to take our grandchildren and finally figured out that you have to book six weeks ahead. We went today and enjoyed an informative tour but it was not really for kids. They enjoyed the pretty, clean ranch and seeing the horses, but petting one horse for one minute.....take them to Grant's Farm instead!
This is a must if you are a Clydesdale or Budweiser fan. Natalie and Kim did a fantastic job with our group. Their love of their job really showed and made us all feel very welcomed and special. Both gals encouraged questions and were well versed about the horses and ranch operations. The buildings and horses were immaculate. Photographs were encouraged and we were allowed to have photos taken with one of the magnificent horses. Manager John Detweiler and Michelle Owens made our visit very special and we thank them very much. Reservations are required and you must be there by 9 AM to get into the grounds. There is a gate and it is closed promptly at nine. I am not aware of any time constraints on how long you are allowed to be there once you are inside. All walking is on flat surfaces and mostly blacktop.
I really can't say enough wonderful things about this tour. Our tour guides, Rebecca and Jennifer, were fantastic! They do such a good job answering any and all questions and keeping the information lively and entertaining! This is seriously one of the most beautiful places I have visited! Do not hesitate to go!
Well worth the time to see. All reservations must be made and paid for on-line, in advance. There are limited options due to being a working, breeding ranch. Tour guides are very informative. Advertised as handicap assessable, which really means wheel chair assessable. Everything is paved and level, hard surface. There are no places to sit. The tour takes 90-120 minutes which is a very long time to stand for many people...especially on pavement.
We took our 6 year old granddaughter to tour Warm Springs Ranch, the birthplace of the famous Budweiser Clydesdales, and it was a great experience! This tour is perfect for those who are young as well as those who are young of heart. The entire tour is also easily accessible for those with limitations. The tour takes a little over an hour and gives some history of the famous breed as well as gives an up close and personal experience with these great gentle giants. One horse at the ranch is a famous celebrity. His name is Andrew, and he is the Clydesdale in the Puppy Love Commercial seen during the Super Bowl. This is just a great stop to make if you are in the Central MO area, or if you are passing through Central MO on I-70. The Ranch is located about five minutes East of Boonville, MO, and it is beautiful. I would advise booking your tickets in advance. The cost is $10 person, and it is worth it. We booked one week in advance, and had only a few time slots to choose for our visit. The numbers in each tour are limited so as to make each group manageable. For those Budweiser connoisseurs, a complimentary cold Bud will await you at the conclusion. A small gift shop is also available and the pricing of items is not extraordinary. If you are going to be visiting Central MO or if you are passing through on I-70, plan ahead to make a stop and have an hour of enriching fun with Kim, Natalie, and the famous Budweiser Clydesdales.
