My children always enjoy visiting Lazy L Safari Park. The staff is amazingly helpful and the animals are fun to see.

Kids had a good time but wish there were more animals. Little procrey for the size and very poor advertisements hardly anyone knows it exists.

We took a Sunday trip into Missouri after hearing about this place. I have never been to a more interactive petting zoo. The kids were enthralled for about two hours as they fed and hugged on various animals and rode the pony. My youngest was in awe of the parakeet enclosure. Wielding two popsicle sticks laden with bird seed, she quickly became very popular with the parakeets, having up to 10 of them literally eating from her hands. I probably wouldn't make the three hour drive just to visit, but for only $7 per person, I will certainly stop by every single time I travel near Cape Girardeau. It was great fun!!

Love this place & what they're doing - breeding programs, etc. It's small, but staff is super friendly and helpful. More of a "petting zoo" kinda place - we finished in about an hour... took us longer to drive there. Great place, but wouldn't make a special trip

Had an enjoyable time today at this petting zoo. It is a little smaller than I expected, but there are lots of animals and a nice variety. We spent a leisurely couple of hours there. One bag of food was plenty for us, but it was mostly one child doing the feeding. We also bought a bird stick and went back later and bought another one. I think my granddaughter would have stayed in the Parakeet Jungle all day. The bags of food and the bird food sticks are each $1.00 plus tax. The snack shack is just some vending machines, but there are picnic tables in the shade. The staff were very friendly. The bathroom is a porta potty, which we did not use. There was a child there in a wheelchair when we were there and she seemed able to access everything with little problem, although the walkways are gravel or hard dirt. It was different and a lot of fun for the kids.

Great little zoo where u can get up close and feed almost all the animals. Our girls is 5 and loved it takes only a few hours to go through u can hang out as much as u want. The camels are cool and friendly. If u are around the Cape Giraideau, Mo area or traveling thorugh I would recommend a stop to check it out.

This is a cute place for the kids to learn about animals. The peacocks roam free, the deer eat from your hand and the zebras stand tall on the hillside. I thought it was a little expensive at $7 a person (we had 5 people) so my wife just stayed in the car while the kids ran free. You'll have to pay $1 a bag more to feed the animals or buy a $1 bird food stick so keep that in mind before you head out. Great hands on activity.

We went to the Discovery Playhouse, Nature Center, & then the Lazy L Safari. This place was fun, but more of a huge petting zoo than a "safari." There are goats, deer, pigs, camels, zebras, and all sorts of animals you can see up close & feed. You can buy a huge bag of food. My kids really enjoyed it. It was a little hard to find.

The Lazy L Safari Park is fantastic. It's an unknown gem that's a great stop on the way to or from St. Louis if you live South of St. L. Lots of friendly "wild" animals feeding and petting opportunities. You can go inside the pen and hold the baby goats. Very interactive but small park. You can probably do everything in about an hour or more. More like an interactive petting zoo than a safari. You walk around a farm/barn area and visit the animals in their enclosures. There is only one port a potty, so use the restroom before you arrive. Also***pack antibacterial hand wipes. The hand wash station utilized following the feeding options is a water pump, so not much water pressure. $7 per person. Great "off the beaten path/We bought a Zoo" type stop.

Took our granddaughter to visit the critters, but didn't know much about this well-kept secret. A lot of the warm-weather critters were already put into their their winter habitats, but the various goats and deer kept everybody entertained with their antics. The camels didn't want to be left out of all the attention either. Quite a nice selection of animals for small location. Clean (as it can be with so many critters) and organized (the critters can keep each other company between their individual corral spaces). Would have liked to see more items related to the animals on site at the gift shop -- that would make for continuing education opportunities of the animals that live here. Wonderful opportunity to learn about animals in an area where there is not a large, corporate-run zoo. The staff seemed to be very friendly and knowledgeable. Port-o-lets & hand-washing station on site.

It may be smaller than most people would think a zoo should be but the zoo is great. There are many types of animals to view from all around the world and cameal and pony rides are amazingly fun for anybody to take part in. The cost of the admission ($7.00) plus tax is great for the amount of animals and other things to do such as emu fishing and most of the special events.the staff are all very friendly.Fun for all ages.

Not a whole day, but a good two hours. They have a lot of different animals. It is clean and the owners are very friendly.

I am not sure what erae84 was smoking, but my guess is potent hallucinogen. This place is an absolute GEM!! My children 13, 12 and 9 loved this place and couldn't stop talking about all of the animals and which was their favorite to feed (btw, the Camels came out as most popular). My husband and I also had a great time, being able to pet/feed many of the animals was a fun and new experience for both of us as well. The staff was friendly and laid back and the prices were affordable. We will be back!!!

I wonder if the person that had the negative things to say, actually went to this same park. My 10 yr old grandson from St Louis was here several weeks ago and we came out to the Lazy L: Safari. We found it to be very clean, and all the animals looked in very good health. My grandson and his family visit Grants Farm, and the St Louis Zoo often and he has been to other zoos, parks and to Disney Safari. He spent longer visiting Lazy L than I thought he would. Said he likes it better than Grants Farm because there you can only feed the goats and here you can feed a lot more animals. Please don't be put off by these comments, because it is not at all like they stated.

To say I was shocked at this scathing review of our zoo would be an understatement. I, and my staff, have been very upset after reading this review. As you can tell from the previous 15 reviews, this review is not consistent with what our other customers have experienced during their visits. We are licensed and regulated by the USDA and are regularly inspected with no problems. We are devoted to our animals and their care 24/7 and have never had someone speak critically of our zoo like this. Most of our visitors come tell us how “clean” we keep the zoo and how “nice” the animals look. I have private messaged this reviewer who visited our zoo on Saturday, August 10th to try and find out exactly how she came to these conclusions. I would also like to point out that this reviewer did NOT bring her accusations to my or any of my staff’s attention during her visit. Perhaps if she would have done this we could have answered her questions and concerns at that time. I realize everyone is entitled to an opinion, but I must take exception with items that are NOT factual. 1) Our kangaroos (male or female) are NOT injured in ANY way. 2) The land tortoises (we don’t have any turtles at our zoo) had already eaten their food for the day by the time she arrived (after 1:30 pm). They often spill their water, but just for the record – land tortoises get their water from the grass or their food source (lettuce). ALL water bowls, tanks, and tubs are refilled with fresh water both morning and evening at our zoo. 3) A few younger goats like to sneak out of their pen from time to time to visit with our visitors. There are NOT a million goats running around and they are not pregnant as 99% have already given birth this year. 4) The “older” woman mentioned has worked for my family and been a family friend for over 40 years. She is the LAST person in the world that would ever endanger an animal. She did pick up a young goat and “set” him over the fence (twice actually that day) because he was interrupting the birthday party at the picnic shelter. 5) The large python is in an enclosure that is larger than a normal reptile display. When a python eats it likes to lie around and does not move a lot – and our python is very healthy. As a matter of fact, ALL of our animals are healthy and NOT sick as this reviewer has claimed. The only accusation that was correct is that the chickens DO have bald patches where their feathers are missing and here is why: ALL chickens that are egg layers (and ours are good layers) will have feathers missing. This is from the rooster breeding them. These feathers will grow back. This is not anything that we are doing wrong – this is nature. I have given this reviewer my personal cell phone number and asked her to call in order to respond to this review.
