We stopped on our way to break up a trip and it is nice. It looked well kept us and has good facilities. Not a bad little park.
Stayed in RV site 108 from for four nights July 2013. Surprised the park was basically empty...maybe due to the heat or maybe that's typical for mid-week during the summer. Sites 100-108 very nicely spaced, minimal shade. 108 has ZERO shade though it doesn't have a neighbor on the "public" side of a camper trailer. All have direct access to the lake...NOTE LOTS of Canada geese in the area = lots of goose poop near water's edge. Water quality NOT monitored from swimming. The camping spots in the lower numbered areas have much more shade. There are trails that I wish we would have hiked; it was just too blasted hot. 26 miles north of Hannibal, MO. Two miles from small casino in La Grange, MO. Easy access to Keokuk, IA and Nauvoo, IL tourist attractions further north. No fee to enter park for the day.
Reasonable prices, good hiking areas, nice lake- great for our Girl Scouts. We will be visiting again this year.
great walking trails to walk a dog or take a short stroll - flat and marked very well. clean, flat camping with alot of shade trees.
boats can be rented, but they do need more boats to rent,so missouri needs to take them more, excellent fishing********************************
Actually haven't been there recently, but last time I visited it was just after a flood so things weren't too pretty.
Nice for camping and spending a day at the beach. Other area places to visit are Quincy Hannibal and the Casino at Canton.
