I actually don't like to gamble too much, but I do like this Casino. It has ample parking, is pretty well lit, and the security seems to be proper. I enjoy the different restaurants and events that take place here outside of just the casino. The blues bar is always fun to take in a good show, they have a really good seafood restaurant, and the sports bar is really neat and has good food. I always feel a little unsafe at casinos but I do feel pretty comfortable with this one. They also have a FANTASTIC hotel - some of the nicest rooms on that side of the river. The best feature is the old night club - if you are looking for a place to hold and event, this nightclub is definitely over the top. I'm sorry it's no longer a night club but they really out did themselves with the design and the details.

The suite was large, and that was good, but the indoor pool was not real nice, and one drunk lady ruined the evening for us in the hot tub. No discounts for renting the room; whereas, other casinos do so.

First off, im 21. Never been to a casino before. Lights and river were gorgeous. The line of cars to the casino reminded me of animals lining up to the ark. Parking garage was confusing and filled with people hotboxing cars from the 80's. Forgot smoking was allowed everywhere in Missouri (Illinois native getting reeducated on how a non liberal state operates <3 ). Chaos ensued as I walked into the main entrance. People on people on people. Slots were confusing and awful payout. 50 dollars never left my pocket so quickly. Drinks were awesome and reasonably priced! Great food at Falcon Diner. Moody gamblers who claim seats that werent even taken filled the casino. Also angry glares and people who I assume had been pooping in their depends diapers in the same seat for hours. Not exactly my style, but a cool place for the right person.

This is a good casino. All the regular games are here. I played craps mostly and had a great time. Half of the table is no smoking, I love this. The dealers are very friendly and were quick to pick up on my style of play. It does make a difference! There is a lot of choices of slot machines. The only two things I didn't like, the drink service was slow and you have to pay for your drink. In Las Vegas the drinks are free! They should make them cheap, but they ask a premium. At least serve them in a timely fashion. I did like this casino, but I visit the bar before I go in.

This was a really cool place to stop by and see. Even if you don't want to take part in the casino, it will be worth the time to just step inside and visit. The décor is very unusual for a normal "hotel". this one is fun and upbeat.

The casino selection in STL can be...unprofessional. Ameristar and River City are definitely the top 2, by FAR. The casino at Ameristar does not look very big, but it handles the weekend crowds nicely. The rooms in the hotel are very good as well. They DON'T have that awful continuous shuffling machine at the blackjack tables either. It is an automated shuffler, but at least it only shuffles 6 or 8 decks at a time. Fun dealers too.

I will not leave a lengthy review as there is a woman who wrote a previous review in June 2014 that was almost identical to my experience and she explained everything quite thoroughly. After a Christmas party for my husbands work that was held on the premises, my husband and I attempted to enter the casino. I was pulled to the side by a security officer and told I was showing signs of intoxication and that according to "state law" I would not be allowed in. Both of us had just had a huge meal and a few beers; I don't think anyone with an ounce of sense would go far enough to call either one of us intoxicated. When my husband found out I wad not being allowed in he began to question the security officer as to why in the world I was selected as "intoxicated" when quite literally, as we were all speaking, an obviously inebriated older gentleman who was stumbling, slurring his words and barely able to walk was being allowed entrance to the casino right before our very eyes! We were truly dumbfounded as to the events that were taking place. My husband was angry and went as far to call the security guard sexist. At this point two other security officers showed up and told us they were going to escort us off the premises. So right there, sober as can be, in front of my husbands work colleagues and friends, we were escorted off the premises as if we were common criminals! Truly horrific and unprofessional security tactics on Ameristars part. I will never return.

The building is lit up and beautiful from the outside. When you enter the actual casino, it, too, is beautiful. It is not as crowded as other casinos. The second level has a large non-smoking area on each end of the rather large casino floor. Had we won, I would give it the fifth star. As it was, we didn't lose.

My friends took me to Ameristar for the first time on Friday and we had fun. The floor is super spacious and it doesn't feel crowded at all, even for a Friday night! There were plenty of options for food and entertainment, and the staff/ security were friendly enough. Is this something I want to do all the time? Definitely not. We didn't win much on the slots, but it was fun to be able to play the old way by pulling the lever. Ran out of time to go to the tables before we had to go, but maybe next time-then we will see for sure. Over all, it was a pleasant experience.

Ameristar used to be a fun casino where you could win a little, once in a while. Since Pinnacle bought the Ameristar Casinos, winnings are seldom and small, dining/menu selections are less, live music inside the casino is gone, comps have shrunk (double, triple, 4 times reward points are gone). Casino hosts have disappeared, you seldom see any management on the floor. It's obvious they don't want to hear customers complain. They have taken out many of the good old machines that you could win on occasionally. It used to be my favorite St. Louis casino, but not any more, since the penny pinching new ownership has taken over.

LOTS of food options. All fresh and temperature appropriate. Desserts were plentiful and varied. We will come again!

This casino has a lot of entertainment options. We spent very little time in the casino itself, and it seemed average, but the live music in the blues bar was very good, the sports restaurant was great for watching TV and the band inside the casino was good too. It was a very busy night but it didn't feel too crowded.
