We stopped here after going to Belmont Winery and before going to St James Winery. This museum gives a great history of the Italian influence on the local wine making. They also offer a great selection of wines from across the state. Free admission to the museum and free wine tasting of Missouri wines. Wines for purchase are a bit pricey as compared to purchasing at the wineries where they come from. All in all a great

A small winery in the St. James area (Near Rolla, MO). It is in a very rural area, so most of the time you will not have to fight a crowd. Many wines to select from.

Arrived as museum was closing for the day but was met with open arms and was given a free personal tour and wine tasting even though I was the only one in my party. Super friendly owner and the museum is excellent and much needed since there is so much wine history in the area. All I can say is-Outstanding!

They encourage visiting often as they rotate their tasting around to each area of the state. Who knew there are sooo many wineries in Missouri. I tasted several, purchased some to take to family for Thanksgiving, giving them an opportunity to taste some from wineries in their area. They were impressed with the varieties and they now look forward to visiting those wineries, too. Next time (they are closed for the season now) I will bring my own glass as have a hard time determining whether I really like the wine from their extremely small plastic sippers.

Stopped by to see what's new at what was once the first winery in the area. Had a nice chat with Andrew, and got a tour of the facility (and a look at the future plans for opening up as many parts of the former winery to the museum as possible - including the original concrete wine tanks). Wow - very cool history! The wines on showcase on this trip were from the "central region" of Missouri, and were grouped by sweetness - it's definitely a "pour it yourself" kind of place, which was fine with us. There are also some wine-related gifts, Route 66-related gifts, and of course Missouri wines for sale.Beautiful facility, friendly folks - this is worth a stop if you're in the area with an hour or two to spare.

Stopped at Rosati on my way from Rolla to Belmont Vineyards. The proprieter (Andrew, I believe) was extremely knowledgeable of the history of the area and the history of this grape growing reagion which was once a major supplier for Welch's Grape juice. There is a museum, a wine tasting room, and a nice dog. They are not a working winery, but they sample Missouri wines from a certain region of MO. everymonth. Also available are cheese and sausage from Swiss Meat and Cheese (best in MO.).The place is just cool. Bunch of route 66 information and memorabelia as well. Anyhow, it is well worth a stop if you are traveling between Rolla and Cuba, MO. They do a lot of wedding receptions and that sort of thing as well. Oh, and there is a short film on the area which I will watch on next visit. Enjoy.

This area definitely needed something like this. I wish there were more in the museum, but I understand it's just starting out and has room to grow and add items. I enjoy the fact that they are changing out the wine to reflect the different Missouri wine regions.
