Wow this place is beautiful. From what I understand this building has house entertainment for decades from movies to plays to local talent. The oustide of the building is just as beautiful. This little city has many masterpieces of beautiful building and old mansions.

This theater has been restored and remodeled and is as beautiful as ever. Such a wide variety of entertainment to choose from and all with great talent. Ticket prices are a great value for an afternoon or evening of theater and entertainment.

I took my family here to see Hairspray; I did not see many reviews on the theatre but decided to go anyway. I was not disappointed, the tickets were cheap and the performance was good. The theater itself had a very interesting layout and a real historic feel which I enjoyed. I would bring my family back to see another performance here.

Wonderful production of A Christmas Story. The theater is beautiful. Great entertainment for all ages.

There is not one thing that I dislike about the Missouri Theater. I love that they have restored the theater and not tried to remodeled it. Talent is superb and as good as any professional actor/artist that can be found on any stage.

The fabulous arabesque architecture and detailing, interior decorative elements, and comfortable seating make the Missouri Theater a uniquely wonderful setting for dramatic and musical events. Talented actors, production staff, and marketing make every play well worth seeing. It is also an ideal venue to enjoy the St. Joseph Symphony. A treasure!

So beautiful it takes your breath away. One of the city's greatest treasures! Very colorful. Great seating.

Everyone, I mean everyone who comes to this theater stops to complement on just how beautiful the theater is.I remember going to the theater in the 1960's. Most other theaters in St. Joseph have been shut down or torn down since then.. Not this one. It was carefully renovated a few years ago. Paint brush by paint brush. Results: Unbelievable.This is a theater that would make any of the European snobs proud. Need to see to believe.

Most recently my friend and I went to see their production of "Our Town." "Our Town" I think has been done by everyone and probably read by everyone (I read it the first time in 6th grade). I thought Missouri Theatre did an excellent job and an age-old production. The actors did an out-standing job and the director did well at matching up character to actor. I can't wait for next year's season.

Local talent outshines professionals. Warm, friendly staff and excellent performances. Location is easy to find. The musicals are our favorite. We would rather see performances here than drive into Kansas City.

The Missouri Theater boasts some of the most beautiful architecture you'll find in a theater. You'll want to spend some time gazing at the beauty before your show begins! I've seen few theaters like it in the USA. Parking is close and prices to get in to shows are always reasonable.

We went to a concert at the Missouri Theater. It is an old theater that has been renovated with the intent of keeping the old style and beautiful architecture. They did a great job. I believe the seating is a maximum of about 1200. We had seats in the back on the main floor. We had no problem seeing or hearing the concert. We were also pleasantly surprised to see that they actually left good leg room. A native of St. Joseph sat by me and told me about the fire and renovation, as well as the destruction of a similar theater across the street to make a parking lot. If you have the opportunity to attend an event at this theater, take it! You cannot choose a bad seat and it is beautiful.

It is a small dinner theatre and the actors involve audience members throughout the play. Parking is close and easy.

This theater is an awesomely restored example of a turn of the century room, original egyptian style decor inside..There was a fire in one of the attached shops and the theater was recently cleaned and restored back to it's original design..The acoustics in this room are magnificent.. Not a bad seat..

Our family attended our first performance at this theatre at the end of October to see CATS. What an experience! The theatre is gorgeous and intimate. The Missouri Theater featured local talent and was an excellent introduction to the "stage" for my eight year old niece. This location is a perfect alternative to the high priced events in Kansas City. In fact, it wasn't much more expensive than had we went to a movie theater. However, as other reviewers have noted, the balcony does seem a little steep and we had partially block views of the back left of the stage. In the future, we will "splurge" on better seats. The cast greeted guests after the performance, giving us the total experience.
