We learned a lot about the area, the owners of the house, industry, and life in the area during the early years of the settlement. The guide was excellent and made sure to engage our 11-year-old son. This is not like a museum, there's lots to see and touch and no ropes. It feels like you're visiting the house as a guest!

We went with a church group to see and experience the history of Ste. Genevieve, MO.we toured several homes, one of which was the Felix Valle house. It was quite interesting. It was actually a mercantile on one side and a private home on the other. The folks who restored the house and business did a great job researching to determine the placement of things in the mercantile. I would love to go again when I have more time to see everything.

I recently went to St Louis to visit my brother. He took me on a day trip to St. Genevieve. What a nice place to visit. There is so much interesting history there. We visited all the old homes open The guides at the homes are very knowledgeable. The history represented there is very interesting. Visiting the homes is not something children would enjoy. Also, none of the homes are handicapped accessible. If you like early history of our country this is a great place to visit.

A must see place for people who love history and early colonial french homes, architecture, and construction, we enjoyed walking the historic downtown even in the rain, we did the tour and purchased tickets at the visitor center. A nice step back in time. Our tour ladies gave us excellent info of the history during those early years and life along the river, from farming to the merchants. I'd go again.

We took the package tour of several early colonial French homes that can be purchased at the Visitors Center and we enjoyed them all. The unique early colonial French architecture in Sainte Genevieve helps make this oldest town in Missouri a great place to visit. It is fun to walk around the historic district, even in 90 degree weather!

We were in the area and since this is a State Historic Site I wanted to visit. The docent was very nice and gave us a good tour of the buildings. There is no interpretive museum that would have made it more appealing to me. Not a good place to visit with a small child.

Our tour guide for this building was excellent. Other tours that we took in the town that day were hosted by college-age kids who were pleasant but not the most informed. We toured all of the homes that are open for tours in Ste. Genevieve and found them very interesting. The architecture and methods of construction, starting as early as the 1700's, are unique. It is interesting to compare the methods even in these few building in town. We spent about 3 hours touring all of the homes.

It's a pretty short tour, but it's kind of neat. Check out the Catholic church nearby; it's beautiful.

Our organization toured in August when it was in the upper 90's to lower 100's. Of course, there is no a/c ao I highly recommend bringing a personal hand fan.Very educational and great tour guides.

Everyone should visit Ste. Genevieve to see the houses, architecture, culture, crafts, people, and the cemetery. It is a key to understanding the history of Missouri and the settlement of the Mississippi valley. It's a beautiful place.

We loved the tour and learned a lot about how they ran their business and their home. By going here we also got free tickets to see another house in town :) Wonderful!!

See the Felix Valle House for an idea of how the wealthy lived in the days of colonial Missouri.
