Not too big, not too small, not too shabby - guess it is just right for a stroll about on a sunny day! Great place to visit even for an hour or two.

This is the kind of zoo experience that you always wish for--lots of scenic areas to walk around, clean exhibits, many well cared-for animals. The new penguin exhibit is very well done. And it's free!

This is a gorgeous zoo with a lot to offer. Best of all, it's FREE! There is a fee for some of the activities such as the train and carousel. However, if you go during the first hour the zoo is open, some of those are free as well. And don't pay for parking! Park for free on Fine Arts Drive and walk the short distance to the zoo. :)

This is a great zoo, they have nice facilities. It has a lot of animals, great variety. The only thing I didn't like was the signage was lacking. I highly recommend getting a map and following that because it gets confusing if you don't have one.

Imagine a place with tons of animals in a huge location with exciting habitats. It has to be one of the top zoos...... now, imagine it is FREE! That's right, this zoo is top rated and has free admission. Matter of fact, st Louis has many free children's activities. Their zoo has much more to offer than some of the zoos that are 30 bucks a person to get in. You can spend the day in forest park enjoying the museum's and then grab a slice of Imos pizza. A trip to MO is not complete without it.

We had the chance to visit the St. Louis zoo with our three year old daughter on a beautiful sunny day in March. All of the animals weren't outside due to the time of year, but the majority were out and visible. Overall the park is quite large and has a LOT of variety in it's animals and exhibits, especially for one with free admission. Because the park is so spread out I recommend bringing a stroller (or renting one there) if you have little ones. I also recommend bringing in your own food and drinks. There are lots of places you can sit and eat and it makes it much easier, quicker, and cost effective than buying your food at the park. We went ahead and bought the park passes so we could go on the carousel & train an unlimited number of times and visit the children's zoo (farm animals, an indoor discovery area with smaller animals, slides, play area, and splash pad - weather permitting). Overall the park is clean, well maintained, and feels quite safe - we felt no qualms leaving our stroller with drinks and other miscellaneous things while we went on the train or went inside buildings. If you're in the area and enjoy zoo's this is definitely a place to visit!

This zoo is awesome. Not only does it have great habitats for the animals it is also FREE. There is a railroad that the kids love that circles the zoo. There is a fee, but is well worth it.

I have been to this zoo many times with my family, friends and as a chaperon for a group of students. The obviously best part about this zoo is that the entrance is free. There is a lot to see and do at the zoo. If you arrive the first hour the zoo is open the stingray touching pool is free too. It is a great way to past the time while some of the animals are still waking up or haven't been released into their habitat yet. I think they release most of the animals into the habitats by either 10 or 11. Plus the zoo is in a beautiful part of St. Louis, definitely worth the trip.

I've been to several Zoos and the Saint Louis Zoo is the most confusing to navigate. The maps are OKAY for help, but the signs around the zoo really don't seem to help. I feel lost when Im looking for a particular animal even after visiting the zoo 3 times. The train ride is nice and the Zoo is very clean.

It was awesome and.. Free! just have to pay for parking and totally worth it, so much to see and so much to look at didn't even have time to finish so plan on taking another trip to St.Louis just to check it out again. If you have the time definitely worth it and will take up a few hours but amazing.
