Visited 3/13/15 with my family. The tour was enjoyable, but the only reason it lasts an hour is due to stops for guide talks. The guide was very knowledgeable though and was able to answer questions. It was a good educational experience. Just wish the tour lived up to my expectations.
One hour guided tour in a tram. The guide was very knowledgeable and very willing to answer questions at any point. Also the staff in the gift shop were easy to talk to and they had some great deals on items.
I have been going to fantastic caverns for years. Over the last 2 years I have noticed that the tour guides have less interest in their jobs. I was also told be an employee that management wants them to do less talking and more letting the cave "talk for itself". To me this causes a less informative tour. If this is any indication of the way this place will continue to do business I will be forced to stop wasting my time and money going there.
This is a place that has an amazing history!! Glad I was able to visit. Will never forget the trip. Cant wait to go back and take family.
it was to costly and not much to see granted you do get to ride but meramac caverns is so much better and a great place to take pictures plus you can get coupons so it saves you money. you do have to go farther but the trip is worth it and there is another cave near by called the ondondoga cave which is also cool to see. call first to make sure they are open as they do have times they close because of the cave bats and weather.
The first time you go it was exciting the ride through the caverns learning about the cave And the shops wee pricey but it's ok
Family oriented. Lots of history! Oh the stories these cave walls could tell. Great for all ages. Great photo stop and good place for the kids to run some steam off!
Although the caverns are not unique, there are many unique features about these particular caves. Size being the foremost feature and interesting geological formationa the other. It's also fun to ride in the jeep!
Pricey for what you get. Interesting for kids but not so much for adults! My kids loved the gift shop better than the cave.
The welcome center is just that...welcoming...beautiful, open, organized, and the staff is very friendly. The actual tour is very fun and the guide was entertaining and patient with all of the questions. I learned a lot about the history of the cave as well as the natural features found inside. The gift shop had many beautiful gems and minerals as well as other informative items. A very nice first visit!
I wouldn't go back. Its pretty but the actual cave ride is short. The grounds around it are very pretty. Its expensive and I feel very over rated.
Fantastic Caverns welcome everyone matter your agility level. You ride thru and that makes it a wonderful sight to visit for everyone. Great on a hot summer day. Cool off, relax and learn something. See why we have so many sink holes in MO. "Cave State".
Caves are one of my favorite things to visit and this adventure proved worthwhile. Of all the caves I've toured, I have never had the lights turned out in order to see what darkness really is. The experience added a fun twist. I would highly recommend this tour.
Wow, is all I have to say. Beautiful caverns! It is a sight you do not want to miss. My husband and I came home with a bag full of stones from the gift shop. Wonderfully priced and beautiful souvenirs. The tour guide was very good, had an abundance of information yet made it entertaining.
The only "ride-through" caverns in North America. This was stop based upon their road-side adverts. There are lots of them! Well worth the price of admission. I even bought some things in the gift shop, as almost everything was 50% off (off season :))Tram ride was well-organized, the tourguide (Pam) was very knowledgeable and I got to ride "shotgun" in the jeep with her Lots of photo stops, and a neat short video inside the caverns. I won't spoil all the fun stuff for those of you who haven't been here! Definitely as must-see in Missouri!
