We had a girls day and toured the rectory's Christmas display (highly recommend) Sugar Mammas called and asked if tours were available that day as you usually need appointments and they accommodated our group of 5. Came back and had their pie. GOT TO TRY IF YOU ARE IN HERMANN.
Very small selection of pies, not displayed well, low inventory of candy. Wouldn't go there again. I could have visited on a bad day, but was disappointed.
This cute little candy/pie shop can accommodate just about any sweet tooth out there! They also had imported German treats, housemade chocolates and desserts, and gluten free options as well.
Bountiful supply of unusual flavors of pie....cranberry pear, pumpkin streusel, German Chocolate pecan, caramel apple, plus the customary flavors: cherry, lemon, coconut cream, butterscotch, apricot, etc.
Mom and the sister went here in the middle of the afternoon, while I stayed at the room (drank too much to do much else..needed a nap). They brought back a caramel apple pie...amazeballs. it was delicious!
The pies there are great. Purchased 2 after having a slice of coconut custard. Browse in the shop to find all different candies you may remember from your childhood. They even had dots and sugar bears. Great fun.
Just had to stop and try a piece of pie here when I was in town recently. The shop has many unique candies and gifts - bacon flavored cotton candy!! A friend and I both had different types of pie and were pleased with them. Very small eating area in front of the store, which was full of family when we were there; so be prepared to take your pie outside. Found it odd that for a pie shop the pie case was a simple, small case, with less than 10 pies in it during a busy Octoberfest weekend. Think the owner could expand the case and make the pies more of a focal point of the store.
If your want a great piece of pie or other dessert this is the place to sit and have it with your coffee. You can even buy a whole pie for occasions when you aren't in the mood to bake. If you are in the market for some different candies or maybe ones you haven't seen since you were a kid, come in and check them out. I also found a great snack bag of nuts and fruit that were wonderful. There are some hometown crafts to feast your eyes on too. Stop by and see what's new.
This little sweet shop was wonderful to visit. They have all kinds of old time candy and almost any fun candy you can think of. They also have some sweet treats. I heard they have struedel, however, I was told that is just on Friday and Saturdays. Unfortunately we were there during the week. Worth a stop in.
We stopped at Sugar Momma's while visiting wineries in the Herman, MO area. This is a unique candy/gift/pie shop. We decided to try a slice of the best selling Apple-Bacon pie. (That's right Apple-Bacon) There is bacon crumbles baked with the apple filling. Rather than crust on top of the pie it is latticed with strips of bacon. It was surprisingly very good. And by the way, Sugar Momma is fun to talk go. Stop by and check her out.
You could look around here for hours and develop tooth decay just looking at all the wonderful candy. There were so many fun and old fashion candy choices and the cookies and pies looked amazing. They have about every flavor of salt water taffy you can imagine - that is where my money went. Really nice staff, great selections and a good time.
Stopped in on a whim while taking the scenic route to Jefferson City to see the Missouri State Capitol. Pie was the word that drew us in. They had cute little individual pies (why don't more places offer these?), whole pies, and pies by the slice, and a bunch of gift items, candy, etc. I got a cute little individual blackberry pie, with a cut out in the crust, and my husband got a slice of pecan pie. Both were very good later that evening as our after dinner dessert.
Love all the old time and new candies, and they had a good selection of gift items. The owner is fun and crazy!!!!!!
Old fashioned sweets and pies - I was doomed when I walked in the door. Candies of my boyhood memories filling my pockets - did I mention fillings, yes I will need them, but they'll be worth it. Get a pie - don't think about it, don't wonder about the calories, just buy one. They have many flavors - even the ones I don't care for tasted good. The only bad thing is Sugar Momma's was located next to the B&B we stayed at. Who needs wine when you can have candy and pies. Don't take the kids in there, unless your credit card has a high limit. My dentist also recommends this place as his 401k took a hit in 2009.
First of all i have to say the owner was so fun to talk to and was asking us all kinds of questions. I got the apple pie but haven't tried just yet and my wife got the blackberry pie. The shop was so neat. I loved looking at all the types of candies and sweets she had.
