Field of Freight was a lot of fun. My husband and I had just as much fun as our teenagers did! They also have bands playing so it's like a concert while your in line. It's good clean family fun!

I have a 22 month old and wanted to bring him to a farm corn-maze thing to top off our fall festivities extravaganza. The previous review left me apprehensive, but Seward Farms is just up the road from us so I thought, What the Hey (or Hay, ha!). We went on the very last day of the season, a gorgeous fall day when it was FINALLY starting to feel like fall. Who wants to get lost in a corn field and sweat? Not I, nor this family! Parking was easy (and free!) and you make your way over to the entrance barn and pay for your ticket ($12/per- 2 yrs and under are free- your ticket gives you a 3-punch card for activities- hay ride, bounce, etc ). For the little ones like I have, there are slides and swings of all kinds, playhouses and a pretend tractor (which my toddler son would have stayed in there all the live-long day). There's a little shed/barn thing which you might call a 'corn crib', where kids can play in like a sand box. For the 3 and under set, there's a little area with those small bouncy animals that they can ride- my son has one at daycare, so he was familiar. There is a big black corrugated tube slide that you CAN ride double (Mom + toddler), but it rattled my teeth, so once was enough for me. There's picnic tables spread about and large checkers and tic tac toe tables set up. There's a large wildflower lane in the center of the farm (nice for photos). The duck pond was nothing special, but maybe there are more ducks at other times. There are pig races in the afternoon, a giant pillow bounce, pony rides ($5) and a hay ride. The ride takes you through some corn fields, a stop to look at some cows & horses, through some woods and more fields, etc. There is a cow train and adults can ride with small children, but it did look pretty jarring and there were whispers on the hay ride that one of the drivers had turned the cow train over - twice. Yikes. There is a pumpkin 'barn' (more like a small shed) and this could be the one place for improvement- I mean everyone flocks to fall festival and church pumpkin patches for photo ops for their little ones- this could be much better if they had an actual 'pumpkin patch'. There's a small petting zoo, where you pet through the fence, you aren't allowed in, which I might prefer, at other ones like at the state fair, the poor animals get absolutely mobbed by the kids. And those goats looked pretty intimidating, so I'm glad there was a fence between us. And then there's the corn maze- you pick up a 'passport' and answer questions along the way- choose the correct answer and you'll be shown the correct way. Like I said, we were there the last day, so the path was already beaten down pretty good, so our directions were pretty unnecessary. And my toddler handled the walk just fine- just was toddling along, picking up this, that and the other. The snack bar had the standard fare of drinks & snacks. There were a few birthday parties going on, and it still didn't feel crowded. Overall, a great time was had by all and I recommend! We'll be back next year!

4 adults and a almost 2 year old ( $60 + $ 5 extra for a pony ride). You pay a dollar for each lap around on the pony, by the time my daughter got the just of being on the pony it was already done. There seems to be more to do for children 9yrs and up. For little ones it would be the same as going to a park. The petting zoo consisted of a cow, sheep, goats, donkey ( very friendly) and a pony, there were chickens to see not really able to feed. The food for animals cost $.25 for a small tiny palm full. Easily spent $10 just for food refills. The cow train is cute, but meant for older kids ( 9yrs and up) is was a bumpy, rough ride. No seats belts or straps for younger ones. the pumpkin picking (SAD), disappointing selection choice, a handful were left in the small handmade barn. I had better choice selection at walmart. Next year I will just look for a small fall festival in town vs driving an hour and wasting $60 to walk around a farm with not much... the corn maze looked neat. Didn't go in like I mentioned my daughter is almost 2. If you are considering going just do it for older children. NOT for young families. The only joy I got out of this was watching my daughter on the pony, her seeing a cow, donkey, goat, sheep and chickens for the first time. Her face was priceless. With 4 adults having tickets and seward farms not having much for the little ones, it would have been nice just using all of our tickets for more pony rides. It would have made it worth it...... but ... no... just disappointed. Will not be returning.

A la frontière de l'Alabama et du Mississippi, en plein pays du coton, Seward Farm ravira les familles en quête d'activités de plein air.Le labyrinthe creusé dans un champ de maïs (et d'où l'on sort sans difficulté, grâce à une série de quiz qui indiquent la bonne route à prendre aux carrefours et grâce à l'équipe des "crop cops" qui ne laissent personne s'égarer) est sans aucun doute une attraction amusante pour les citadins. Tir aux graines de maïs, mini-ferme, courses de porcelets (très élégants, roses à point et bandana autour du cou!), balade en carriole dans les champs et... "cow-train" (un petit train aux voiturettes redessinées en vaches!). Les gamins adorent, pour la plus grande joie des parents! Sympathique et bon enfant: pourquoi s'en priver ?
