southside gallery

Southside Gallery opened in 1993 and has held numerous exhibits of local, regional and international artists. Most openings have the artist(s) present, giving visitors the opportunity to meet and interact with the artist. Exhibits have included painting, sculpture, photography and folk art. The Gallery was started by Milly [Morehead] West, who was a frequent traveler to Cuba, to photograph people and sites and to collect art. The art is displayed on two floors, with the upper story exhibiting art from previous shows, with one room concentrating on folk art. Gallery space can be rented for special events, such as wedding receptions and other celebrations.
