We got there, but museum closed so called number and Richard came to open up. So much memorabilia that Richard has collected. Would love to go back when opens in a larger location.
This small museum is on it's way to be upgraded to much larger place. Museum contains so many important details and artifacts, it's unbelievable. Man who runs the Museum, Richard, is very knowledgeable, friendly and ready to help and answer any questions you might have. Be sure to visit murals, statue and other places related to Howlin' Wolf in West Point.
Stopped in to see this museum, as we arrived early in order to do so. We really enjoyed the visit - so many memorable photographs of the Wolf as well as Hubert Sumlin. Add to that guitars from notable Blues musicians, Howlin' Wolf, Hubert Sumlin, Kenny Wayne Shephard, Pete Townshend & more. It's a Must see place for any fan of the blues. Thanks to Richard for all the hard work in putting this together.
What a great little museum! This place is a must for any Wolf fan or in fact, for any blues fan! Richard has done a wonderful job gathering Howlin' Wolf memorabilia and keeping this great bluesman's memory alive for us all to enjoy. If you're traveling in the area of West Point, MS, I highly encourage you to take the time to visit the museum!
