Absolute gem in Kent, CT! Excellent collection of art. One of the best galleries in the country! The Gummer opening was awesome.

If you are interested in excellent contemporary art, either for viewing or for purchasing, this gallery is a must-see. For one thing, it is a huge space, very interestingly laid out (not just a big box), and there is also an enormous amount of unhung inventory downstairs. There are sculptures and constructions as well as paintings, although paintings (many of which are quite large) make up the bulk of the artwork. I myself have just arranged to purchase an oil painting that I found downstairs, and Owner/Curator Billy Morrison has been very accommodating in terms of payment arrangements. Kent has suddenly become even more attractive than it was in terms of being a destination. Now if only a restaurant of the same character and quality as the dearly-departed Belgique could be lured into town, Kent would really be cooking with gas. (Yes, it's an old expression, but then I'm an old person!)
