It is true that that our return policy states that accessories are eligible for a full cash refund within 10 days, however, you are also eligible for store credit up to 30 days. This has been our policy for over 35 years and believe it to be fair. The return policy is clearly outlined on every register receipt and posted on our website. Unfortunately this return was over 2 months from the original date of purchase which falls well beyond both of those time frames. Under that circumstance, we did try to work with you on this by offering a partial store credit. We're sorry this did not meet your expectations, but we do believe this demonstrates our willingness to work with our customers on matters like this. This store had wonderful one of a kind items for purchase. The staff were helpful, when we saw something on a tree but could not find it in the store, they helped us locate it. A stop here will make you buy more that you thought you wanted!

On a beautiful fall day we decided to take a ride (1 1/2 hrs) to the Saybrook Country Barn based on a friends' recommendation. We were not disappointed. It is a large venue filled with sooooo many unique items. From furniture to clothing--a fun place to poke around, get decorating ideas and shop for a special gift. I did get two decorating ideas.Albeit we may not return because it's just too far for us, I suggest that anyone visiting the area should stop in. There is also a boutique (very expensive, but very, very nice clothing) next door which also houses the Aspen Restaurant which is outstanding.

The Saybrook Country Barn is filled with a wide variety of furniture, décor, food products, clothing, jewelry and more, covering all price points. My wife and I are in there every month to see what's new and what we might want to use for decorations for the various holidays throughout the year. Friendly staff and great service. Most of our household furniture has come from "the Barn".

The Saybrook Country Barn is a multitude of shopping experiences. There are two buildings.One has a gift shop area with pretty dried floral arrangements, wreaths, dining accessories,candles, etc. mixed in with furnishings with vignettes of furniture arrangements throughout the store. Rugs, window treatments, and home decorating items top it off. The other building hasmore furniture and an upscale ladies clothing shop which, altho a bit pricey, has lovely clothing and accessories. Also a mens clothing store. Men, there are benches outside for you to sit anda Starbucks across the street to wile away the time while your ladies have fun shopping. A muststop for Old Saybrook if you have the time.

Amazing selection, unique, original, warm, cozy!! Loved the people, really willing to go that extra mile and take great care and pride in their work.

Sales person was attentive, knew her product and helped me pick out the perfect wood color to match my kitchen cabinets. She then helped with the height of my counter for the two stools that I purchased. She listened to what style I wanted and helped with other questions I had. The delivery was done very professionally right down to putting drop cloths on my new wood floors so they wouldn't track in any dirt or mud. They then showed me how to open the table and how to store the leaves.

The last itme I visited Saybrook Country Barn was probably at least my 30th visit. Do I buy something everytime - no. Is every order perfect when I do shop - no. But there is no where that has this level of customer service. I am sorry the other reviewers had issues that they felt were unresolved. I have ordered every piece of furniture in my house from Saybrook Country Barn. Once, just once I had a problem with a drawer. It was taken care of professionaly. I love the choices I have here. When I buy a piece of furniture I know it will hold up for my lifetime and beyond. The sales staff is great! Let me give a shout out to Lisa and Beth. My wife also knows the owner of this store and bought furniture long before I came into the picture as well as her parents. It takes some time to get the furniture. It is made to order. If you can't deal with the lead times, then shop at the made in China furniture stores. Good Luck! But, if you have a little patience you have come to the right place. The people at this store don't just work here, they love working here or at least that is the feeling I get.BTW, I have never written a review on TripAdvisor. i live in Old saybrook and simply love this store. The rating for this store was so out of line with my numerous visits I had to write something.

Our Customer Service Department and Sales Staff are very thorough in their handling of every customer service situation. We go to great lengths to to keep a high level of communication with our customers during the rare instance where something may have gone wrong. We are a family owned and operated independent business that has been around since 1977. As a result, we are able to provide a much higher level of service then our big chain competition. This particular customer service issue was a highly unique circumstance that has many factors and variables. It is true, sometimes damage can happen in the shipping or delivery process. We have a very rigorous inspection process that each piece goes through to ensure that our customers do not have these inconveniences. As you stated sometimes things happen that we can not anticipate, This appears to be one of those times. Again I'd like the assure you we absolutely care. Saybrook Country Barn has many furniture items that are special order. These items in particular have long lead times that we are very upfront about from the beginning. A sofa can take upwards of 6-10 weeks to receive. In the unfortunate circumstance of damages, getting the replacement item is often subject to these same lead times. We do everything we can to expedite replacement furniture but we can only do as much as Manufacturer is capable of producing. The amount of options for Saybrook Country Barns custom upholstery is virtually limitless, 1000's of fabrics, 100's of frame, Cushion, Arm, and Leg options. Getting this level of customization goes hand in hand with these longer lead times. These items are specifically hand made for you. We are sorry that you had to wait through 2 lead times, and we apologize that you feel as if we were not caring. We have cared deeply for our customers for 34 years, and will continue to do so.
