Beautiful views, great trails for easy walk with dogs and kids. Great for walking, hiking or biking. Carriage trails and harder trials. Never crowded.
lovely well marked clear trails - fantastic biking -lovely all times of the day and all weather too!
I use the park strictly of mountain biking although there are plenty of walkers and trail runners. You can horse back ride and then there are the dog owners who believe the leash law/rules don't apply to them. Wish they would at least walk their dog to the side of the trails. One of the best parks if you ride a mountain bike, very technical to easy. I usually visit four times a week.
This is right behind my house, I love walking there almost daily during the week with my dogs. I tend to avoid the weekend because the mountain bikers crowd the trails and race passed hikers too fast. The lakes in the center of the park are lovely.
Nature at its best. Beautifully maintained, a joy to visit. Picnic tables, etc. available for family outings.
In the winter you can cross country ski or snow shoe when the weather permits. There is limited parking however.
complete with men jerking off in the woods.Girls beware. It was once the private estate of Collis P. Huntington, the railroad magnate. There's good history online. You can walk the trails to ponds -- maps available at the entrance on Sunset Hill but I wouldn't go without a big dog. And there are coyotes, etc.
I went hiking for an entire day. the major trails are wide. the minor trails are easy and passable.. I took the outer circumference trail. I am not sure of the mileage. Parts of the trail had step inclines and decline. I an going back to discover the inner trails. I had lots of deer sightings and found tracks of many other species.
This is one of my favorite places to hike. Though my route tends to be repetitive, I almost always see something new... a BIG snake, plants in varying stages of growth, plants I hadn't noticed before. The ponds appear to be kept fairly litter-free.
huge state park for the adults and kids to roam. Horses can be ridden there, also. We saw kids fishing in the lake. Canoes can be brought in at the opposite end of the lake, off Sunset hill Road -- look it up on a map. Nice hiking trails all around the park.
