I have never stayed at the Bed and Breakfast at Beliveau, but I have been to many of their events and tastings. Their wines are delicious, as well as the food they serve. We have never had a bad time at this winery. Many times, they have live music and free admission. Their lavender festival is fun too! It's definitely worth the drive to visit.
I really enjoyed visiting for a tasting. I'm sure a stay at the B&B would be delightful, too. Good selection of wines.
With no local alternatives, Beliveau Estate fills the void but lacks the depth to truly satisfy. Offering an endearing atmosphere comprised of rustic charm and a stone patio overlooking picturesque mountain views, this winery is a worthwhile stop when visiting Blacksburg.Setting itself apart with a liberal pet policy, the outside bar tasting experience is informal and unique. At $5 for a sampling of 6 wines, you can easily find a bottle to bring home. The staff is accommodating and knowledgeable, but the wine leaves something to be desired. The shop is small and tours are not available. While locally significant, the term "estate" is a possible misnomer. There is nothing extravagant about this destination and while quite pleasing, Beliveau's simplicity is simply anticlimactic.
Beliveau Winery allows patrons to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the wine sampling before or after. The sampling was $5 for six wines, your choice of three reds and three whites. The sommelier was friendly, funny, and helped us enjoy the wines. We purchased several bottles and considered it money well spent. The estate has lavender gardens near the tasting room and also sells a variety of lavender products.
