20 years ago I did a photography project on Humpback Bridge. It hasn't changed much. A little more graffiti on the inside. And the big LOVE letters 100 feet away are cool. With a 6 year old she was more interested in playing in the creek. As an amature phorographer. I find it hard to get perfect shot because there is also a huge railroad bridge behind covered bridge.Bridge is just minutes off Interstate 64. So it is a nice break. Port a potty only. As we were leaving a bus pulled in and there was a long line.Last note, it is a nice roadside attraction with no fee. However don't drive an hour out of your way unless you adore covered bridges.

I do not remember covered bridges but they uses to be very common in early years in 1900's.Here is not only restored covered bridge but also humpback bridge which were thought to be stronger and could hold more weight. A walk across this bridge gives you the feeling of living in the far past. A step into the past.

This bridge is gorgeous. You really don't want to pass up stopping here. There's tables so you can stop and have lunch if you're passing through. Road is marked well with signs starting on I64. You can walk across the bridge and walk along the banks. It's a beautiful location. I'd like to go back when there's snow.

This covered bridge is located over a beautiful running stream with very clear water and lots of smooth river rocks. It's an excellent place to get some good vacation shots. You will only need a short time, but it's worth the stop. Nice place for a picnic, too.

my wife and I were on our honeymoon vacation and I've been wanting to see this bridge for about two years near the end of our trio we made it loved it so much we spent the night in a local hotel and came back the next day while there we were talking to a pair of local sisters when a F16 flew by out of nowhere we will be back to see all that you have to offer Thanks David W. Nice little stop walking through the bridge and the water underneath. Tons of tagging inside the bridge. Was interesting to stop and read some of it both old and newer

If you're in the area its worth the trip to the park to see this Humpback Bridge. It's one of only two covered humpback bridges left in the United States. It's blocked off so you can't drive over it but you can walk it.

Even though it was a bit drizzly, it was worth stopping here. I had not previously been aware that there was such a thing, and the "LOVE" graphic you can pose with there is kinda cute.

We were lost and saw a sign for the humpback bridge 1/2 mile. Decided to check it out. Beautiful old covered bridge with a gentle stream and park for a picnic. So glad we took the time to see this spot.

My favorite part in this park is the word LOVE spelled out. Please see my pictures but it is very pretty with water running and the bridge is in good shape. Rope Swing under brige. Walk along the water, skip some rocks or have a picnic.Nice kept covered bridge with 5 to 6 picnic tables and a few grills.

My grandfather's place was just a little ways up the road from the Humpback. It is authentic. Of course it has had to have work but to me it is a "bit of home."

Beautiful setting for this lovely bridge, original or not it still is a beautiful bridge and nice, tranquil place to have a picnic, easy to find. Didn't like the graffiti inside but thank goodness for photoshop. I don't think you will be disappointed if you stop by and see this one. Photographers will love this photo op. Love the L O V E

Even though it has undergone some restoration work in 2013 it's still not to be missed. It it may not be 100% original but it was originally built in 1857 and considering we could have lost it and not seen it at all, I won't complain. Only thing that was a disappointment was all the graffiti on the inside and then on the other side of the bridge. Other than that we were delighted to see it and considered it a rare treat. It has a decent sized parking lot, portable toilets and a couple of concrete tables if you want to have lunch there. Kids were swimming in the creek when we went. Just go over the bridge and down the bank on the other side and you can walk right into the water. It hadn't rained recently by the way the creek looked when we went, but some parts of the creek are deep enough to swim in, while other parts are shallow enough to just walk about in while clearly seeing the bottom.Other than better access to the creek there's just a couple of tables on the other side. They are kind of hidden under the trees and not in the open like on the parking lot side. Part of the old road that went through the bridge is on the other side, but it's all grassed over now and doesn't appear to lead anywhere. Just running past the bridge maybe 75 yards. I'm horrible at guessing distances. The only thing I wish I had brought along with me was bug spray. Mosquito's (I'm guessing) left my daughter alone, but ate myself and my wife up when we were on the parking lot side of the bridge. They seem to leave us alone on the other side.Don't forget to look for the letters spelling out LOVE between the parking lot and the creek as it can be easily missed. There's a plague explaining why it's there.I would say you could get a wheelchair over the bridge, but suggest you not turn it around until your on the other side first. The floor of the bridge is made of planks and there are small gaps between them. You would most likely get stuck.Only a short drive off of interstate 64, well worth a stop if your into covered bridges.Note on Portable toilets. They may not be there year round. Reading other reviews from this year, (March) where they say no toilets available, makes me think they may only keep them there during the Summer months. They may not be there during the colder months.

My husband and I visited this beautiful place on our trip from West Virginia to the Blue Ridge Parkway through the Midland Trail (US-60). It's a beautiful and peaceful place , perfect for a picnic with the family (kids and adults) and beautiful photos. The day we visited several kids are swimming even though the day was so cold. Unfortunately someone damage the inside of this beautiful place with "Graffiti". Good parking, picnic tables and portable restrooms.
