We showed up at the distillery just in time for the last tour and found it to be very informative. Chuck is quite a character and everyone in the shop was super nice. Even if your're not interested in doing the formal tasting you get one free tasting after the tour.

This is a place not to be missed. Make sure to take the tour, very interesting and enlightening. Ask questions, they are very knowledgeable. And take time to sample their products. The shine is smooth.

Even if you have been in other distilleries it is worth taking the tour here. You get up close and personal with the owner as well as the output - too bad Virginia does not allow tastings at distilleries. The moonshine is quite good and will not cause some of the other issues with "moonshine" from wherever

On our way to a family weekend we made a stop and we're so glad we did! The owners are so friendly and the tour was great! The gift shop is wonderful and there's pictures and memorabilia all over the place. The moonshine is smooth and their suggestion of adding peaches was a great one! Definitely worth driving a little out of the way but call to check if they're open.

Located about 9 miles outside of Culpepper this is a real treat for those folks who like to find unusual and charming local 'spots' We did not take the tour of the distillery but spent a wonderful time browsing through a pleasant and comfortable gift shop. The owners could not have been kinder or more friendly. Do check their web site though because they are not open 7 days a week...and yes you may purchase the products they produce...lol

We stopped by Belmont Farms Distillery while visiting Culpeper for the weekend. Belmont Farms has been featured on a National Geographic show & the history channel about moonshine. We took the tour which was pretty interesting. I appreciate that Belmont Farms is a family run business and that they are keeping a piece of American history alive and educating people about the history of moonshine. And yes, it is legal to buy moonshine at Belmont Farms. Currently they do not offer tastings but they are hoping to eventually be able to offer tastings in the future. Belmont is a little bit off the beaten path but worth the drive in my opinion and the gift shop offers some fun options such as shirts, hats, etc along with moonshine you can buy which would be a great novelty gift for someone that is hard to shop for. Currently they are closed on Sunday's so make sure you check to confirm their hours of operation.
