martinsville-henry county heritage center & museum

We were driving through Martinsville on the way to Roanoke and decided to check out the Museum of Natural History and happened into the brochure for this place which is like 2 minutes away. It is free of charge, though we recommend a small donation. Beautiful place, had several rooms full of Martinsville History. It is located in the courthouse, beautiful building full of character. There are stairs (no elevator) that lead into the courtroom and a small display with an awesome dollhouse...worth seeing for any child or adult. The exhibits are interesting and you can see it all within an hours time. There is a nice Veteran's Memorial there as well. We recommend a stop.

Great historical exhibits that are very well put together. A lot of history in this area and this is a must see.
