I have been here many times and am a member. This is a great place that makes learning fun not only for the children but for adults as well. They have some great staff some play with the children. My five yr old has "friends" that work there. She feel that some of the staff is her friends. Which I think is a wonderful thing. She enjoys the young artist program that they have on Fridays. Everyone should visit at least once.

With four kids, I've been to a number of children's museums in several states... this one in Lynchburg is by far the best I've seen. My son had a blast, and it was the first time I was wishing we had more time. Just awesome fun!

Amazement Square is one of the finest interactive children's museum on the East Coast. My grandkids always want to go there, even the 10-13 year olds. The call it the bug museum because of the large sculptures of different insects on the outside of the building. The staff are friendly and helpful and even though it is in need of some remodeling, your kids will love it.

We love Amazement Square! This children's museum is a Lynchburg treasure! It has so much to offer for kids of different ages...so much so, that you may not get it all in with one visit! Our family has really enjoyed this attraction for years.

This is the best children's museum we've ever experienced. Each floor is rife with opportunities for children to be physically and intellectually engaged with science, architecture, art and nature.

This is the most impressive children's museum we have ever been to. It is 4 stories filled with amazing activities for all age groups. There is a staircase and elevator to go between the floors, and also a jungle gym-type tunnel, for kids who are old enough, to go up and down as well. I thought the glass-walled painting area was especially interesting. We spent a lot of time in the toddler room with all of the ocean-themed toys. My little one was also mesmerized by this golf ball contraption where you put the balls on the track and watch them spin around and shoot out. Pretty cool. There were kids of all ages everywhere, so you definitely have to be on-point and make sure you know where everyone is to keep from bumping in to one another. All in all, it is such a creative place and is definitely worth a visit!

Really enjoyed taking the grands here. There is a lot to see and do. Lots of hands on stuff and fun ways of learning. My grandson really enjoyed the balls rolling in different patterns and climbing on the netting and tube that span the floors.

We recently took our grandchildren, aged 4 1/2 and 2 1/3 to see this museum. We could have stayed much longer, as there was so much to do! But we can save the other floors, chutes and ladders for another visit! Both enjoyed the farm experience, especially harvesting the "corn" and then putting the ears back on the stalks! Milking the cow who gave water was fun too. While big sister went to another area that demonstrated momentum and gravity with golf balls, I took her brother to the area for children 36 mo. old or younger--ONLY! He & I took off our shoes, and he had a ball going onto a pirate ship in the room. There were chests of pirate clothes inside the ship, so he got to dress the part while steering the ship. Imaginary sea life was a feature he enjoyed in there also. As I put his shoes back on him to leave, he said, "I havin' a GOOD DAY!"

This is a remarkable building. It has 4 stories of thugs to do and learn. We visited with grandchildren, ages 4 to 10. They all loved it. There were not only stairs and an elevator connecting the floors there were tunnels and a climbing "ladder", There was a zip line, painting on a glass wall, ant farms, insects, a class to make slime, etc. It was a great place to spend an afternoon.

It was such a great experience. I loved the mixture of local history and basic exhibits. My kids loved the different exhibits but the Motion one was their favorite. They loved playing with the golf balls. They also loved that my wife and I could do everything with them, including climbing around the tubes. They also do not charge for lockers. You just give them something like your car keys and they give you a locker key. That was awesome. Only problem we had was the person working the gift shop area was very cold and even yelled at my kids. Then it took over 10 minutes to buy just 2 items because she did not know how to work the computer.And adults beware, you will probably leave there sore if you play in the tubes, lol.

Took my nephew here a few months ago and he loved it. It is a fun place near the river with lots for kids to do.

This museum was built for children of all ages. Read the history of the building on their website, it's so neat! The light up staircase is so fun and the rooms are so creative! Hours and hours of hands-on exploring. Worth the price!

great hands on learning and play for the younger set. A real gem in the downtown area. Always a good place to go, and their special programs are usually a jewel

Amazement Square lives up to its name; it's truly amazing! I took some children I was nannying for there, and they had the best time! You can spend several hours moving from floor to floor, learning both science and history in a hands-on way! You can dress up, put on a puppet show, or paint all over glass walls! You can play instruments, ride in a canoe, and climb and slide your way through the building if you don't feel like using the stairs. The staff is super friendly and helpful, and they go out of their way to entertain the children. Overall, it's a great experience (for all ages) and a perfect place to allow children to fall in love with learning!

If you are looking for a great place to keep the little ones entertained....this place will not disappoint. It is fabulous
