mt. crawford creamery

My wife found this dairy farm on Facebook, so we decided to visit right after New Years. We didn't know what to expect, but were pleasantly surprised. This farm is run by a family and is very laid back and friendly. -Before they milk in the afternoon, they feed the calves. We saw about 10 calves that ranged in age from 3 days to 10 weeks. The owner let our girls carry the feed buckets and even feed a milk bottle to the smallest calves.-They milk the cows every day at 4pm. The milking parlor is small, and they let you get right up close to the action while they work. They even let you help if you want! Our daughters asked a bunch of questions and they were very patient as they worked and answered every one.-The creamery processing wasn't running at the time, so there wasn't much to see there.-It's neat to see the entire process, from the calf pens, to the young cows, then up to the fields and milking time. The entire staff was very nice and answered all of our questions.-Their retail shop has milk, buttermilk, butter, chocolate milk, and eggnog (seasonally) that they make right there. They also have hats and a couple toys, plus a small kids area where kids can play inside.We love to support local, family owned businesses, so drop by and see what they have to offer!! They also sell their products at small stores within a 50 mile radius.FYI, Coming from bridgewater, our GPS told us to turn right to get there, but don't turn right - it's right there on the left at Old Bridgewater Rd.
