This attraction was included in our ticket to the caverns so we had to stop in and see what it was all about. My boys enjoyed it (3, 8, 10). The floats are enormous and yes, you are able to get on some of them (but not all) We went on a very very slow day so we were the only ones in side so it only took us 20min or so to walk thru everything. I would probably not have paid to go and see this attraction but since it was included with the caverns we stopped in. It was interesting but I wouldn't rush back to see it.

It was wonderful to see in person floats that maybe I'd once seen on television in the Rose Parade or Presidential Inaugurations. There are also stages and other props used at political conventions, fighter planes and various other surprises. There was much more here than I expected and I enjoyed visiting.

This huge building contains a myriad of floats from presidential inaugural parades and Rose Bowl parades. The floats are enormous and beautiful. Some are more than 2 stories tall. The float of the American flag must be more than a block long. There is a really cool train garden on the way out. Don't miss it. The grounds outside are beautifully kept. There are picnic tables where we were able to have a little lunch. There is plenty of free parking.

We liked the strangeness but it actually scared my granddaughter a bit! There are several moving characters that were interesting but to a two year old, scary.

Was awesome to see all the parade floats up close. You were able to get on some and take pictures. Nice place right beside the caverns. Only takes between 30 mins - 1 hr to go through depending on the amount of time spent looking at them.

was truly in Ahhhh the floats are huge, my mouth fell open and it was so much fun to walk around and read all the information on the different floats. You can actually get on some of the floats and some move really amazing. There is a $10.00 fee and that also gets you in another exhibit at the actually caverns wish is up the hill and has window exhibits.

The floats were amazing to see. You don't realize how big they are until your actually standing next them. You have the choice of going thru with a guide or walking thru on your own. There are plenty of opportunities to take pictures. This was actually the best part of our day.

Parade floats galore, interactive and fun. Probably my favorite attraction of the day. Don't miss the giant cootie out front!

I didn't know such a place existed, but I was in the area on business and it was included in my admission to Shenandoah Caverns. It was kind of interesting but also very strange and somewhat disturbing. As other reviewers have mentioned, it could potentially be scary to small children. There were some crying children when I was there, saying they didn't want to go near this or that float. And some of the floats having moving elements as well as loud sounds, which can add to the fear. If you are at the caverns and have time, you might as well stop by since it's free (included with cavern admission). It's something you probably have never seen (and will never see again, or want to anyway). But it's definitely a conversation starter, if you are looking for a strange and unique story to share with your friends, this will do it!

There are floats here from many well known parades such as Macy's and the Rose Bowl. They are mammoth and oh so beautiful! Each float is accompanied by a plaque with information to make it even more interesting. Some of the floats have been arranged in a manner that allows visitors to take their pictures while on them, though most need to be "don't touch" displays. A few even allow you to push a button and see some of the action exhibited while they were on parade. I'm really glad we went, especially since I probably would have skipped this if it hadn't been part of my Caverns' admission fee.

If you are into parades (which admittedly I'm not), you might enjoy this place. It reminded me of an acid trip, not that I have any personal experience with such but you get my drift. I am writing this review, however, to warn parents of small children of one thing. In the back, there is an old pumper fire truck. Cool, in and of itself, however, there are two axes attached to the side, which are very real and not in any way, shape or form secured. Anyone can pick them up and pretty much do whatever they want with them. I pointed that out to the two women working at the entrance and they said they had pointed that out to the general manager several times. I asked to speak to him and pretty much his attitude was "whatever." He said he was looking into it but frankly, I wouldn't trust him to actually do so. Just keep an eye on the kiddies!Kids would probably like this place, though.

we stayed across at Shenandoah Valley Campground- run by very nice folks that had coupons to the Shenandoah Caverns and American Celebration tour combo. We enjoyed both attractions- Shenandoah Caverns feels more like a cave than Luray (which I loved dipping and squeezing through some spots), and just as specatular w/the amazing rocks. There is also a preveiw of the American Celebration with the amimated windows. Makes me really want to go to New York for Christmas decoration.American Celebration is a different experience all together. The exhibits are well perserved and bigger than life. It's a hidden gem to be enjoyed. Also, dont forget to visit the Yellow Barn, there is train that rides over head, and a live bee hive at the back. The honey and apple butter for sale is super yummy.

This was such a surprising and interesting museum. We were surprised by the size of the floats --- so much larger in person! the floats range from an extra-large rolls royce to daisy and donald duck. We loved this place. Brilliant colors, larger than life, some animated floats and some that you could sit on. would highly recommend this museum to anyone who has ever enjoyed a parade in person or on television.
