I beg you not to spend time with Captain Phil unless you’re completely ready for a wonderfully relaxing, exceptionally informative, and a delightfully visually stimulating experience. Our group was treated to a multitude of Osprey sightings and historic as well as current facts about the Urbanna area. We enjoyed our girl-time so much onboard that we may bring our men the next time…
We had a wonderful two-hour cruise with Captain Phil. Will return again with friends and family. I can't recommend this more highly. From the comfortable boat to the warm and friendly captain/host, to the beauty of the water and wildlife, you will not be sorry.
Cafe Mojo is in the heart if Urbanna, near the Rapahannock River. Mojo's is friendly to locals and tourists alike. Lively bar scene, great food, especially seafood, which is always fresh and caught locally. Inventive recipes as well as old standbys. They can accommodate children, although they are not a priority. Good service.
Captain Phil did a great job of helping my boyfriend and I relax at the beginning of our weekend with a Friday sunset cruise on the river! We ventured through several creeks along the Rappahannok and saw a ton of ospreys and their nests!
Captain Phil and Urbanna Cruises was one of our favorite things to do on a 3 day family vacation to Urbanna and Irvington. He picks you up at the Town Marina, just two blocks from "downtown" Urbanna, in his large pontoon boat, and you tour the waters around Urbanna and Irvington looking at beautiful houses, checking out dozens of Osprey nests, and enjoying the beautiful scenery on the Rappahannock River. Stop at the Tides Inn or Merroir for drinks. Get great history lessons about the area and learn unique things about the many different native birds you'll see out on the water. We only chartered him for a couple hours, but wish we could have done it all day. We are a family of four, and our 10 year old and 6 year old had a blast...would also be great for couples. The boat comfortably seats at least 6-8 people. Oh, and if you don't mind, he has a great 4-legged deck hand that he'll bring along if you want!
