This place is great and the staff is awesome! Great selection of foods, vitamins, and locally grown meat. Even organic root beer! The yarn shop offers a variety of beautiful yarns and kitting classes. On Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays there are "sit and knit" times for folks who want to come and enjoy the company of others while knitting.
The Market is a go-to place to purchase spices, nuts, gluten free products, and any health food item one can imagine. Additionally, the Market carries natural remedies, such as a cream for pulled muscles that beats anything I have ever used previously. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and willing to do whatever they can to make one's time in the store a positive experience. An added feature, adjacent to the Market, is the yarn shop (one of the few between Winchester and Staunton off I-81), which carries a plethora of knitting supplies and a vast array of yarns to fit any budget. There is a comfortable area in which knitters of all abilities meet, swap stories and patterns, and help one another with various knitting/crocheting projects. Travelers, including a woman from Ireland, trekking down I-81 have been known to stop by the Market to pick up something and then have stayed a few hours to join the sit and knit group. All this is testimony to the warmth and friendliness of the place. Who needs "Cheers" when you have "The Market"!
the market and adjoining yarn shop is one of the first places one should visit in Woodstock, VA.As a newcomer to the area, the knitting group held on Tuesday mornings, Thursday afternoons and Saturday mornings is a special place to feel welcome and learn great tips for knitting. The yarn and spinning llama fleece is varied, well priced and appealing. The market itself offers organic foods, frozen fish and pies and foods that are not found elsewhere easily. The owners take pride in their store which is reflected with the goods and crafts that offer.
The Market has become my first-stop shop before the grocery store. I can rely on a great selection of bulk spices, healthy grains, local meats, snack items, and fabulous soup starters which are great this time of year! I also like the NOW line of vitamins as well as the skin care options, again, great in dry-skin weather. Rich and Kathy are so welcoming and it boasts "family" business. But, I am MOST thrilled with the addition of the YARN SHOP too! This place is a little piece of heaven right in Woodstock!
I wouldn't be as happy in Woodstock without The Market. There I can find great vitamins, supplements, spices, nuts (fresh and with better oils), spices (cheaper and fresher than the grocery chain stores), always smiling faces and a warm greeting.
