Walked through the cemetery, sad but cool at the same time! Definitely a must see and it was neat to know they actually had small little town for slaves there as well. Lots of history to learn!

The Yorktown National Cemetery is part of the driving tour through Yorktown Battlefield. You can't miss it as it is one of the marked stops. Yorktown Battlefield is about the Revolutionary War, but this is a Civil War Cemetery. It appears to be a small cemetery but is not as small as it seems. There are about 2,000 people buried here, and most of them are Civil War soldiers. The sad part is that 2/3 of the Civil War dead in this cemetery are unknown, and many of the graves are unmarked and contain more than one soldier. It is a very solemn moment to stand here and contemplate everything that happened on this battlefield.

Not necessarily exciting but certainly port of the whole experience visiting Yorktown. It's grounds are well manicured and there's plenty of signs guiding you to the interesting areas and informing you of what happened there - along with some details of the major players.

This is a small cemetery that is well kept. However, you will quickly find that there are more soldiers buried here than there are gravestones. Several are marked with "TWO" (THREE of FOUR) "UNKNOWN SOLDIERS". This is a solemn place to take in some history.

The Cemetery is small, but well maintained and has great views of the battlefield. There are many unmarked graves, but you may find someone you know from the civil war era. It may help to stop and visit the little building there. The volunteer was helpful and gave me some information which I will be using to research my family history.

Small cemetery beautifully maintained. Very sacred area and sadly so many unknown soldier graves. These are mostly Civil War graves.

My American Legion post comes in December to lay wreaths on the graves in this small, walled cemetery. It's immaculately cared for by a veteran. These are Civil War graves (mostly). If you walk the rows, you may find someone who shared your name.

I actually did not know about this stop until we were doing the battlefield tour. I'm so glad we stopped. It is a small cemetery but humbling nevertheless. When you walk the grounds you notice 2-3 unknown soldiers in the same grave. Most of the soldiers buried here from the Civil War are unknown. You will notice a sign on the gate letting you know that it is a cemetery and to be quiet. If you bring children you might might explain it to them a little before you bring them in. It's not a ride at Busch Gardens but a place to honor our dead soldiers. Also inside the caretakers house you can get info on the Civil War battle that was fought on the same battlefield.

This is a small cemetery but there are hundreds of soldiers buried there of whom 2/3 are unknown, except to God. Very sacred place.

It comes alive to you when you actually go where these men fought. The grounds are very well taken care of. The museum diplays were super.

This is a small cemetery inside of the Yorktown National Battlefield. This cemetery is for Civil War soldiers killed during a union campaign.

We had a great visit to the battlefield. We were amazed by the Americans brave actions that secured America 's freedom. As a descendent of revolutionary heroes from Vermont it was good to better understand what occurred at Yorktown . I tried 3 times to list this review under " Yorktown Battlefield" but trip advisor wouldn't let me so I hope you find it here..l

Although it seems to be small in comparison. The cemetery is a remarkable place to reflect on what really happened on these grounds. It is sad to see that man of the headstones are being covered up by shrubs and bushes. These need to be taken down before the stones are lost forever

This was part of the Yorktown Battleground Driving tour. This is the first main stop on the drive. This was fascinating to view the different plots with the dates of death. Its a quaint solemn stop on an interesting drive.

It was awe-inspiring to view this cemetery and walk among the gravestones of the soldiers who fought for our independence. I would definitely recommend taking time for this.
