If you have a hankering for a personal and up-close engagement with a wonderful little theater, this is the one for you! We just attended our second show in two months. Parking is available on the street nearby or in garages several blocks away. Beautiful old town neighborhood area all around. Not a bad seat in the house. Enjoy!
The Little T of Alexandria is a true gem. With SO many theater opportunities in the northern VA/DC metro area, the "LToA" provides an intimate venue for quality entertainment at very reasonable prices. As on street parking in crowded Alexandria is often difficult (LToA doesn't have its own lot) recommend going to see a weekend matinee performance. This will give you plenty of time to find either a space on the street or ... contact the theater directly (google its website) as LToA now has an arrangement with a nearby bank to use its lot for free. It's just a few walkable blocks away. With so many other attractions to see in "Old Town Alexandria" (historic, shops, places to eat) it's easy to enjoy a full day (and night!) of fun. You'll also avoid the unbearable traffic of DC!
Loved that they put on a very good productions for a small local theater. We say several plays there and they were very good. The audience is mainly older patrons, not too many younger people though. It is too bad because the cast does a great job.
This is a small local theater that does wonderfully professional productions. it is an intimate setting. Check out their website for schedules.
We went here on Halloween to see The Rocky Horror Picture Show and avoid the madness of the bar scene and it was the perfect night! The cast and stage set up were absolutely perfect. They executed this famed cult classic beautifully and kept us in laughter all night long. To make it all better, it was only $30!!
this theater is a great find. it leans towards material that is tried and true, but enthusiastic and very convincing performances by the cast will leave you very satisfied with your evening.of course its not broadway, but its not $150 buck a ticket either.
Excellent venue and performances. A vibrant, well supported theatre with a great selection of shows.
Lovely brick building that fits well within the historic Old Town community, it stages many musicals and plays by local companies. Well worth the visit to take in one of the shows.
Every seat is an excellent seat! There is not one seat in the house with an obstructed view. Every production is an impressive production! The box office and lobby area has a homey comforting ambience to relax while waiting for the theatre doors to open, and the box office staff could not be nicer. At $30 per seat, you surely feel as if you are stealing the seat from the theatre, because the actors in their productions are truly top notch. Check it out if you usually enjoy live theatre. Located in quaint Old Town Alexandria, where there are plenty of wonderful pre-show restaurants. Bring your tickets with you to the Union Street Public House and receive a 20% discount on your meal. Parking for the Little Theatre is street parking only, so ladies wearing heels may prefer to be dropped off out front while the gentlemen locate a good parking spot.
we have season tickets to the The Little Theatre of Alexandria. They put on good plays, mostly lighthearted and the actors and directors do a good job.
The Little Theatre is not Lndon's Dominion, New York's Schubert, or DC's National. It is, however, a greatplave to catch a community theatre production. The staff/actors are great ... And some of them should be on Broadway or in the West End. So, ifthe opportunity presents itself, try the Little Teathre of Akexnadria.
found this little gem thanks to tripadvisor, small intimate community theater, actors were all good everyone was pleasant make sure to book a little in advance seats seem to go quickly
A rare find in medium-sized cities -- a community theatre. This is top notch with a series of productions throughout the year. There is considerable variety in the offerings with classic plays and musicals along with new entries to the stage. The directors are excellent with an eye to choosing good actors and creating good staging. If you are an Alexandrian, you may be surprised some evening to find a neighbor taking a leading role. If you are from out of town, you too will be surprised by the talent of the locals. The theatre itself is a brick building that fits nicely with the Old Town architectural theme. Well managed with a professional cadre of ushers.
Been here for multiple events, and the staff is always first-class and the events eclectic and interesting. I highly recommend attending an event here, it's worth a night out on a date or romantic getaway.
This neighborhood theater is cute with decent actors and productions. It's certainly worth the low cost of tickets for an enjoyable evening out. That said, be sure to check your tickets when you get them. When I picked mine up at the will call window the lobby was very crowded and it was hard to know where to go. Finally finding the line for the window, I was handed my tickets in an envelope and quickly walked away from the window to let the next person in line get their tickets. When I opened the envelope my tickets had incorrect seat numbers. So I got back in the line and waited to get to the window to find out what to do, and I was sent to the management office. The woman at the office was sure that they'd done nothing wrong and told me the show was sold out and that there wouldn't be any seats for me. I was pretty surprised by this response, and told her I thought the tickets had simply been printed incorrectly and gave her my purchase confirmation number. She then saw that I did have different seats and they hadn't been given to anyone else and simply printed out the correct tickets for me. Maybe she was having a bad day, but her instant assumption that I had made a mistake and would have to leave the theater without tickets or seeing the show before even checking or asking me any questions kinda annoyed me -- it wasn't a good start to a fun evening, although the show was very good and my entire party enjoyed it.
