My friend and I were in Winchester for a weekend getaway. We wanted to find a place for breakfast where the locals eat. We read the great reviews for this out of the way place and decided to try it for breakfast. Don't judge this restaurant by the outside. The food was delicious and cheap...better than IHOP. I had one pancake, scambled egg, and sausage for $3.25. Wow!

I loved this place.they serve the best breakfast ever. Ingredients were fresh and the people were friendly. It's a wonderful old style diner, small and casual

When you first see the Apple Valley Cafe you might hesitate. It's a squared off cinder block shack with crudely-lettered promotions cluttering the walls but, once you're inside, you'll know it's a classic diner. The kitchen aromas, the menu, the friendly waiters take you back in time. Even the prices remind you of happy bygone years. The atmosphere is great but the diner food is wonderful. Portions are generous and show that the kitchen has talent. If you'd ever want to time-travel back forty years, here's your chance

My wife, daughter and I went here based on very positive reviews we read online. Both the Western and "Nancy's" omelets were excellent - lots of the "add on" ingredients and very reasonably priced. The home fries were the best in memory, nice and crisp with plenty of onions. My daughter's waffle was tasty and ample, with nice strawberries for being out of season. The service was super-friendly - very obviously a family run place - and the surroundings cozy. I would hazard to say this is the best of its type in Winchester, and is far better in every respect than one of the breakfast chains. I plan to check out lunch in a future visit. I would love it if they would expand their menu to some simple dinner items outside the realm of sandwiches and pizza - no doubt the cook can handle it!

Me and my husband saw this little diner a few times as we are our and about in Winchester and decided to stop. Its small and quaint inside but the staff are very friendly and the food was good. I especially loved their home made fries! So delicious! And their sweet tea was excellent as well! My husband had a burger and loved it. Portions we're good size and did came out quickly. I also had a pizza which was so tasty and better than any local pizza place. Definitely worth a stop you will be pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food coming from a diner!

We stayed in Winchester for a long weekend with another couple and the Guest House we stayed at recommended the the Apple Valley Cafe after I asked for a breakfast place that was local, good food, not too pricey, and not all fancy. He did not hesitate to recommend Apple Valley Cafe. From where we stayed it was about a 15 minute walk, perfect for a start to the morning....I ranked this a 4 only because it's not much to look at but don't let the appearance fool you, the menu has a great selection and the portions are huge! If you finish your meal you won't need much for lunch. Coffee got high marks and the service was excellent, they joked around with us and it seems family owned, they stayed busy with customers. Next time we will try it for lunch. For the Motorcycle fans, it's right across from the Ducati dealer, so something fun to look at after your meal.....
