virginia museum of fine arts

西方的作品就不说了，连中国的古代艺术品都有这么多原件。。让我这个深圳人想起只有复制品的深圳博物馆该情何以堪。喜欢艺术的话 可以认认真真逛上一整天。今年10月开始有故宫文物展出~

10月陪Host Family来到这里 很舒服 是免费的哈 但是门口的接待都很有礼貌 其次真的 这个建筑物内部构造层次很复杂 容易迷路 ！不过真的艺术品太精美了 还有很多画都是介绍美国的创国历史的 很有教育意义

Once a month they have a workshop for kids and it was amazing! My four year old is high energy and this kept his attention for almost an hour! Afterwards we went outside so he could run around in the sculpture garden. We didn't eat at any of the restaurants, but might on a future visit.

We were in Virginia for vacation and decided to spend some time in this museum on an inclement day. It was a great experience - this museum is massive. We ended up spending 5 hours there because there were so many interesting things to see and read about. You will not be disappointed spending some time here.

Outside there's a statue of a cavalry horse, thin, lame, looking if he won't last another hundred yards, that's just a reminder that men only didn't give their lives for the cause, their animals suffered right along with them. Powerful stuff.

We spent about 3 hours at this very nice museum. We enjoyed the Art Deco and Art Nouveau collections and the Italian Renaissance paintings from the Kress collection, and we thought the Saarinen womb chairs in the lounge near the restaurant were especially classy (since we are longtime owners of two of them). The Faberge Easter Eggs were away on tour, sadly.

charge your camera battery and bring an extra battery. because i like to take pictures, i should advice you in this.also, do not go hungry. and expected to walk at least 2 hours.

Great museum and free admission. The mummy was incredible to see! Highly recommend this museum. Furniture galleries were a fun addition.

Nothing like taking your whole family to a cultural event for absolutely free. I love how the state of Virginia takes care of its military families.

We stopped by on a Friday night because they stay open late and have some drinks available. We spent a few hours killing some time before a movie. There was a nice variety of older and modern art. I wish we could have stayed longer to check out a little more of the exhibits. Everything was fresh and clean.

We've been here before but there are always new and excellent exhibits to see. This time the exhibits of Japanese artwork were worth the trip. The presentation of the pieces, their descriptions and explanations of how the work was made were quite outstanding. Highly recommended.

VMFA is where we like to spend our Sunday afternoons. They always have wonderful exhibits and the staff is very pleasant! Parking is simple. We learn something new, every time we go!

This is a very nice museum, especially for the price (free)! They have a little bit of everything and a few special exhibits. There was a Japanese collection when we visited. The staff was very nice. I only wish it had been a bit warmer so we could've enjoyed the sculpture garden more.

Jazz nights on Thursday nights have now added an extra dimension to what was already an amazing place to visit before. I highly recommend. One of the best attractions in the City!!

Wonderful museum with many exhibits and large collections. Great restaurant and jazz Thursdays. Recently had the Chinese exhibit.
