Colovista is taking a measured and steady path to glory. New carts came just before Christmas and now they've added accessories such as ball washers and sand bottles to them. Every time I go and play there are more and more great changes and additions in place. It is understandable that they want to move forward cautiously and grow their success in a way that is sustainable. Just love having this as our local course.

This course continues to get better as they continue to make improvements. The cottages are a great deal to stay & play still the best greens in the area. if you love golf you must come & play this course.

The men in our group enjoyed the course which had some hills and challenging holes. The course had just reopened after a redo and the guys were happy.

I normally play Star Ranch, but wanted somewhere different, so we settled on Colo Vista in Bastrop. It was an OK course that needs some care. The cart paths were nonexistent as were ball washers. The absence of ball washers was a FIRST EVER. The fairways were wide enough, as were the greens but very hard. One tee box was so hard I could not even get a tee in the concrete dirt. Traps were old blow dirt. Maybe one day they will get a handle on maintenance, at least some basics. Not really worth $30!

Conditions at this course continue to improve! It's been a few months since I was here and most of the bunkers have been redone and the few remaining are in process, I was surprised to see they have new golf carts too. Definitely worth the 45 min drive from Austin - you really feel like you are getting away from it all out here. Kudos to Billy Casper Golf for bringing this course back after the fires.

It's always a treat to play herewe were so sorry when it closed down a few years ago, then the wildfires prolonged the agony, but the community pulled together and now it's open again! Billy Caspar Golf manage the coursehands down the best golf-course in the area for quality of play and value for moneyit gets better and better every time we play there - the greens are phenomenalthey have great 'stay & play' packages which make it a great option - especially for when our out of town company comes to visit

This course is recovering from almost 5 years closed. It is making an AMAZING come back!! The greens are new, fast & true. Fareways are healing wonderfully! Best course for your dollar, which is not bad!!! Check out the "stay & play"!!!! Cottages AND golf!!! What more could you ask for?!?

This is the best course in the area including Wolfdancer. Wolfdancer has several greens that are Unfair and almost unplayable plus very expensive. Colovista on the other hand is priced very very reasonable and has the best greens of any courses in the area lots of beautiful scenery and friendly staff. You may want to buy a home and make it your home course......

Of the four golf courses in and around Bastrop, each one has its own advantage over the rest. The ColoVista course is the best kept, save for the Hyatt Wolfdancer, but the cost there is too prohibitive to play there on a regular basis. So ColoVista wins on condition versus cost. There course is two separate nines, actually; the front nine being relatively flat while the back nine has some challenging terrain. But even the "flat" side has undulating and challenging fairways. ColoVista also has the advantage of having very affordable cottages you can rent to "Stay and Play". No matter which course you choose to play in Bastrop, you can't go wrong playing any of them. Who knows; like me, you may find Bastrop so appealing that you may just decide to move here. I guess that would be called "Play and Stay"!

ColoVista Golf Club near Bastrop, Texas, was closed following the huge fire than engulfed much of the area. The course is in excellent condition and the current owners are taking great pride in offering their guests the best in Central Texas golf. The club house has refreshments for purchase and the course offers overnight lodging in resort cabins.
