Informative tour and the Ice Cream is great! You can just visit the parlor to enjoy the wonderful Ice Cream at a very reasonable price, with the bonus of many articles to read about the Blue Bell story.
Blue Bell is a great stop with the family, we made the trip to Blue Bell while we were in the Brenham area visiting friends and see the flowers. Blue bell has a nice tour of the factory for the Kids and plenty of ice cream to sample after the tour. It really was a very nice side trip with family and the staff there was great to deal with.
Interesting tour for all ages of how ice cream & ice cream treats are made. Learn some fun dacts. Tour lasts about 35 - 40 minutes. Free ice cream at the end! High traffic & lots of children on weekends & holidays. You can pre-order tickets online to avoid a wait when you get there.
Today I visited the Blue Bell Creamery during a little spring break getaway. What fun! It was great to go on tour and actually see how the ice cream is made and packaged. Many times you go on factory yours and don't see anything but machinery and see pictures. We also got free samples and they are full chip size. We tried a flavor called Milk and Cookies which doesn't hit the stores until this weekend. So delicious! Blue Bell is the best ice cream on the world. Staff was friendly and the gift shop had a great variety of items. Tshirts were even under $20. So glad we stopped for a visit.
We had a wonderful time at the Blue Bell Creamery. The staff is very friendly and our tour guide had a bubbly personality and was very knowledgeable. The best part of course was the ice cream tasting at the end!
It's a part of being Texan and it's interesting. Pluse you get free ice cream. What more could one ask.
The tour itself was fun and pretty interesting. It also wasn't extremely long, which was good for the young kids in our group. The free scoop of ice cream at the end of the tour is definitely the highlight and was BIG. You can purchase additional "scoops" for only $1 and it is a perfect way to try all the fun flavors.
The Blue Bell Creamery is just off the highway and a very worthwhile stop if you like ice cream. This is some of the best you will experience and at bargain prices - a large scoop is a dollar. There are a large number of flavors. We tried Burgundy Cherry, a peanut butter variety, Rocky Road and Cookies and Cream. All were delicious - especially the burgundy cherry which was loaded with large pieces of cherry. The ice cream parlor where it is served is large, clean, provides lots of seating and includes a company store for souvenir shopping. Tours of the factory are also available. If you like high quality, very tasty ice cream this stop is a must as it is unlikely you will find such choices and low prices anywhere else.
Took the guided tour of the Blue Bell creamery to get an education on how their superb product is produced. After a 35 minute tour we were blessed with a wonderful treat of free Blue Bell ice cream. Interesting to see ice cream production with a knowledgeable person explaining all the steps involved. Learned it takes milk from 60,000 cows for one day ice cream production at this one plant. Treat yourself to a road trip to Brenham and check out ice cream plant.
We didn't tour the ice cream plant this time. We went to get some ice cream. They let you have taste tests. The ice cream was very good at a good price. There was a nice gift shop, too.
A few changes since our last visit with our Girl Scouts several decades ago. Visited with our now adult daughter and enjoyed it even more! The changes: it now costs for the tour but you get a huge scoop of one of their 13 awesome flavors at the end of the tour. Our tour lasted about 35 minutes. Our guide, Nikki, was informative, funny and answered everyone's questions as well as helped serve us our ice cream at the end of the tour. A family owned company, not open on the weekends so their staff can be home with their families, their workers are home by 8pm, the assembly line workers are rotated every 40 minutes so no one is stuck at one place all day and they all get as much ice cream as they care to eat for their lunch break. No pictures inside for the privacy of the workers but you can tell how happy everyone is by the waves given to the crowds and the smiles when you pass them in the halls. A really tasty Texas tradition well worth the drive.
We stopped here mostly to stretch our legs but are very happy we did. The creamery offers a little tour of the plant....amazing to see the machinery, conveyor belts, etc. Then, there are free samples-how many do you want-plus a scoop on your desired flavor. Nice little diversion.
The tour was wonderful led by Dottie our guide. It was a lot of fun, educational, and in the end extremely tasty. At the end of the tour we each got to try 32 flavors of ice cream, and a scoop to eat. There are new flavors coming out soon and I can't wait to taste those. Next time we are passing by Brenham, we plan to stop by and get a scope for only $1.00 at the Blue bell factory and our kids hoped we would have gotten one of each on this trip, bu trying 32 flavors is a lot of ice cream to begin with.
Blue Bell is what Brenham is known for and really, who doesn't like ice cream? The tour was about 30 minutes and fairly educational. Free cup of ice cream at the end of the tour was a bonus. Try the Mardis Gras King Cake flavor, sweet and tasty! There are no pictures allowed n the tour, but plenty of other photo opportunities. All in all, well worth $6 tour price! Be aware, there are no tours on weekends.
We came to Brenham to visit the factory. I liked the large amount of information, It was interesting and the ice cream with delicious.
