酒庄专门有中国贺年包装的酒,国人购买力之强可见一般。有专门的中国服务员,所有的标识都是中英双语。简洁,大气,现代。位置也很好找,在巴罗莎山谷主路上。
My wife and I spent the morning visiting this park as we toured Canyon Lake. We were surprised to find there was a charge, especially as we were the only visitors in the parking lot. There were plenty of picnic benches and barbeque stands for anyone wanting to eat outdoors. We walked back up towards the barrier, and accidentally encountered a short nature trail. Although there were only fleeting views of the lake, it led to a camping area, beyond which here was a small marina. There were many areas which were for the sole use of DoD personnel which was rather confusing for non-US visitors.
We launched from the Jacobs creek ramp and went out on the lake. We ended up being later than the 6PM closing time to due to an emergency on the lake. We had no number to call and report we would be late. After getting the boat out of the water at 7PM a security guard approached and was clearly upset at our tardiness. I tried to explain why we were late and he just kept repeating the same line over and over. I have signs posted that say when the park closes. You are trespassing on Federal property and I can either let you out or I can call the Comal County police and they will ticket you for trespassing on Federal property and they will impound your vehicle. I apologized and once again tried to explain the reason we were late. And once again he said the same line over and over. He was nice enough to let us out, probably due to the fact we had our 1 year old son with us. So to all boaters thinking of using the ramp at Jacobs Creek Park you should avoid it. Emergencies happen on the lake all the time and if for some reason you end up getting to the ramp without enough time to clear the front unmanned gate by 6 PM you will be in violation of several Federal and County laws. Not to mention you will severely agitate the security guard. As a side note the docks at the ramp are not very good. One is in terrible shape and does not float. The other has small one foot wide walkway with missing steps along the remainder of the walkway. It's very dangerous, steep and slanted. Not worth the entry fee and being hassled by the man every step of the way. Surefire way to ruin a great day on the lake.
The park is very clean n has nice covered areas to sit in with port o' potty facilities. The only dislike was the staff yelling on their bullhorns an hour before closing.
The park is a good place to see the lake, with excellent views of the dam and shore line. It is well equipped with covered picnic tables and mutliple restrooms. The entry price is now $7, but we had no trouble with the automated entry gate. There is a roped off swimming area. The shore is pebbles, rocks, and lots of freshwater clam shells.
The lake his huge, we rented a boat for the day lots of coves to just pull into and fish or just anchor down and relax.
Nice quiet beach, with trails and picnic areas. Clean restrooms, friendly people. Nice areas to view the lake.
We get to the gate see dogs allowed on leash how ever they are not allowed near the water. The park is awesome lots of picnic tables and places to sit in shade but next time I wont bring dog because it was cruel for him to see the water and not be able to get in. We had to leave after 30 minutes of being in the park. Very misleading the sighs at front should state this. The gate is a machine paid so no way to get refund. The price has increased to $7 but the web page said $5.
A spur of the moment trip. Partner remembered it from years ago. It is older but very clean. Bring your own stuff and leave it as you found it. Will probably return again. A fan of the Hill Country area anyway.
Like - The park has a roped swimming area - great for kids. Grills, playground and pleanty of pic nic areas are available.Entrance fee is $5/car.Dislike - the entrance is automated and only takes cash (exact amount required). No debit/credit cards.
Canyon Lake offers 8 parks with a wide variety of recreation opportunities such as: camping, picnicking, swimming, hiking, and many other activities.
We had a great time. Great place to swim. Great place to bring the kids to swim. Great place to have a picnic or BarBQ. And they now have a person at the gate to let you in.
Yes, we have had the same issue before with the gate, however, the last two times we went were manned. We like this park, has enough space so you are not on top of people. Dog are allowed, I think they are the only park that allows them.
The gate never opens right. The machine rarely accepts your money. Today (7/20/08) the gate wouldn't open and people were trying to enter through the exit. It was very caotic. The park needs to go back to the two people that used to man the entrance.
The park entrance is not manned. A payment machine is available but you have no recourse when it keeps your money and the gate doesn't open as happened to us today. Credit cards are not acceptable so after you work to get the machine to accept your $5, the gate doesn't open. Very disappointing.
