Too bad there are so few theaters left like the Varsity. It's right out of Texas history, like The Last Picture Show and Friday Night lights. And you can still get a big pickle for $1.

This old theatre finally closed in the summer of 2014. It is now for rent so maybe somebody will make a go of it and open it again. The nearest theatre is 10 miles away in Amarillo.

This theatre is old. This theatre is run down. But this theatre rocks! The prices are half of what you would pay in Amarillo, plus the concession stand is CHEAP. A large drink is $3.00. They even have nachos and cotton candy. The quality of their concession is great. They only show one movie once through the week, and three times a day on the weekends, but the experience is worth it. They even have midnight premieres!
