Better off going to sixflags. The rides are like what you would find at the state fair. Tickets are over priced. You don't get a lot for your money.

Was here with my 3 young nieces and they loved it! They loved the paddle boats and the train the most! The rides are not too expensive and you can bring your own food into the park. Lots of shade and places to sit.

Small and fun rides. Not very crowded and not famous. Most people are rude, but there is a man that runs a haunted house that is nice. We went their during the summer and in May. I would say that Sandy Lake is better than Six Flags.

My young children loved it- the ponies, the paddle boats, the rides. I like the old time feel of the place. Great prices. It reminds me of what the state fair used to be like.

What a pleasant, comfortable small amusement park. They have lots of shade, reasonable prices, train rides, tilt-a-whirl, merry-go-round, pony rides, bumper cars, two pools, shaded picnic areas (many with grills). You can bring in your own food and drinks, even your own grills, chairs and coolers. Park food is good and the folks who works there are cheerful and polite. Great for grandparents to take younger grandchildren (Most rides cost $1.50 a ride, less if you buy a 44 block of tickets for $20). Plenty of parking with many spots near the numerous shaded cook-out areas. Everything is within easy parking/walking distance (no need to ‘ride the tram’ in.) We were there for a vintage Volkswagen Show (for which we paid a $2 entrance fee) on the 4th day of a four day weekend and everything was impeccably clean. I’d have given it 5 Stars except there is not a lot for older teens - so take the teens to Six Flags and shell out a couple of hundred dollars. :)

There is so much to do at Sandy Lake Amusement Park. They have carnival rides, a hugh pool, and a lot of areas for picnicing. Lots of fun for kids and adults.

This facility has two nice pools and the area is kept very clean. Pricing is reasonable. It is an old stand-by for Carrollton and vicinity residents.

This is a very pretty and convenient venue for children of all ages. We took grandchildren, ages 2 and 18 monthes. They had a great adventure, and we survived. What more can you ask for? We all loved the early afternoon time together.

This is a great alternative to spending a riddiculous amount of $$$ for other parks. They have bumper cars, pony rides, tilt-a-whirl, pools, train rides and picnic areas. Great for work get-togethers, Sunday-fun-days, and cook-outs!

Sandy Lake is not your top of the line amusement park, but it does have plenty for the kiddos. The have lower scale carnival rides and a train that goes around the park. They also have a swim area (I've never gone for a dip myself) and a mini golf course. Tickets can get pricy if you want to ride over and over again. My three year old goes every year and loves it.

Last April, my band got top rating at the fun fest! When we first got there, the use of a urinal was half a bathtub. Plus, grime was all over the plumbing. After performing and receiving our trophy, we ate then went on a "haunted" house ride. The scariest thing there was probably a puff of air. The train was small which is not a bad thing, it just means its not for teenagers. I have to admit that the game room looked fairly nice, but the mini golf course looked a bit undersized. I didn't remember the quality of the lake well enough to rate. There was also go-karts that would not "go" The rides are all portables, which may or may not be a bad thing. Pros- Nice game room, Covered picnic pavilions. Cons- Poorly maintained restrooms, Lame rides, Golf course is nice; but not as big as Putt-Putt, Go-Karts with not enough power.

This is still one of my favorite places to go with family + small kids. Great place to do a pic-nic or birthday party. You can bring in all the food and drinks you want, you can even bring in your own grill and tents. It is the old fashioned buy tickets to get on rides. And most of the rides are designed for kids under 10. They only charge 2 dollars per person to get in. The mini golf and paddle boats are also good. Little kids in my family loved the riding the train and riding the ponies. You can entertain a family of 4 at Sandy Lake for what it costs a single ticket at 6 flags.

We take our grandkids there when they are in town and they do enjoy the rides. Sandy Lake also has a very largo pool with a wave rider.

This is really not an amusement park for teens or adults. It is a nice diversion and reasonably priced if you have elementary school aged kids.Truthfully Sandy Lake PARK just a place to go have a picnic is likely better than the amusement part of the operation.

$2 to get in is a great deal. Even if you don't go on any rides or play any games or swim in the pool, you could pay $2/person, pack a picnic lunch, and just hang out in the shaded trees. It's pretty sweet. All the rides are about $2-3/person. There aren't many, but they also have paddle boats, mini golf, a pool, and an arcade. The arcade was smallish, but my 3-year-old son and I had fun playing the games and getting tickets.Positives:The staff was very friendly and accommodatingThe grounds were clean and sprawlingNo lines for the ridesAffordable pricesGreat parkingNegatives:The paddle boats were closed due to the lack of water in the lakeThe mini-golf course needed some updatingI never went in the pool, so I can't comment on that. I would recommend this to people who want a relaxed amusement park that want to spend an hour or two hanging out. There was a huge family reunion going on, and they looked like they were having a ball barbecuing and visiting under a large gazebo. I would also recommend this to young teenagers who want to go on a date somewhere other than the mall or movies.
